Sonia Kashuk Textured Mauve Monochrome Eye Quad Review & Swatches

Sonia Kashuk Monochrome Eye Quad Textured Mauve

The Sonia Kashuk Textured Mauve Monochrome Eye Quad is one of four new eyeshadow palettes that Sonia Kashuk launched at Target for Spring 2013.

I’ve already reviewed one of these palettes in a prior post and today I thought I’d explore my second favorite shade in this collection, Textured Mauve. Honestly, this is more dusky pink than mauve but either way I’m all about it.

Take a look!

You already know that the Sonia Kashuk Monochrome Eye Quad Eyeshadow Palettes are available in four shades and are now apart of the general catalog at Target and Target.com as I recently reviewed one of these for you.

These are a little bit of a revamp of the old eye quads offered by the brand and a vast improvement. Each palette comes in a slick black compact which is a new packaging design typically Sonia goes with a more sterile white with her compacts. The black definitely lends a more modern edge to these new quads.

They are small and contain four eyeshadows but they do pack a mighty formula. You’ll find a matte, semi-matte, sparkle, and velvet eyeshadow inside each quad. Textured Mauve a graduating selection of dusky rose mauve shades that go from lighter to slightly darker in variation. For the most part the colors are very much identical with very minor differences and the major difference being the finish of each. At first I found it odd that I’d have four of the same exact color in a quad but it actually turns into a rather awesome affair I’m having with these little shadow palettes.

The matte and semi matte shadows are a little patchy so I recommend a sponge eyeshadow applicator for application to get the smoothest finish. I said it in my prior review and I’ll say it here the velvet shade is gorgeous. It’s a smooth and buttery that’s close to cream-like in texture and applies oh so easily. The sparkle shade is a great for using as an overcoat on top of any of the shadows in this palette or paired up with other eyeshadows you may own to add a bit of sparkle. In this case I like using it over the matte shade for a bit more pop since I dislike mattes generally. The sparkle shade does have a good deal of fall out so you might want to prep with a cream base to avoid some of that fall out.

Although a little expensive at near $14, I’d shave off $3 and make them an even $9.99 for the best buy, they pack a fairly good formulated eyeshadow with plenty of pigment and beautiful application. The quality is excellent here and I do so Muse Approve them as a pick up!

I think you’ll love them as much as I do!

I really don’t need anymore pinkish eye shadows but these look so pretty!

The two shades on the left remind of the Naked Palettes.

Oh this is pretty! I always look at this brand but haven’t tried anything yet. I’ve been on the truck with my bf since April and I hardly wear makeup. Going home next week for a few days and looking forward to wearing some makeup! I’ll have to check out these quads. Looks great on you Muse!

I love these quads. Funny story tho. I used the glittery eyeshadow.. And during the day I’d get freaked out.. I kept seeing these flashes of light.. I swore that my work was haunted. Took me a long time that it was the glitter on my eyelashes…. Silly I know but it was a good laugh when I figured it out.

I’ve been eyeing these for a while because I think it’s brilliant, all the different finishes. On bright summer days I love to sparkle, but there are plenty of times I much prefer mattes or matte/satin with a little bit of added sparkle.

Your review formula is so helpful, by the way. I love how consistent it is from product-to-product! I had this and the browns quad on my ‘maybe’ list, but now I feel much more comfortable putting them on my ‘yes’ list ; )
