Bare Minerals Take Charge Marvelous Moxie Lipstick is a new, limited edition shade introduces with the Bare Minerals The Power Neutrals Collection.
This is a nude rose that’s almost dusky peach to me. It isn’t a color I’d typically wear to be honest because you know me…I’m always OMG living dead girl lips…I want to wear nude lipsticks but I simply can’t. They suck the kawaii from my very soul.
But I can make an exception here.
I’ve reviewed Marvelous Moxie Lipstick ($18) when it originally launched and it still remains a fantastic lipstick to me. This shade is a full coverage lipstick with a creamy consistency that has a satin finish. The finish kinda sorta leans towards semi-matte in my opinion but perhaps its the shade and lack of shimmer that makes me feel that way.
Unlike the regular Marvelous Moxie Lipstick line this ditches the black packaging and embraces a gold mirrored barrel. I find the formula applies easy with a buttery creamy texture that rides across lips with an easy glide. The color has a tendency to go nude beige on my lips but I imagine it’ll vary depending on how pigmented your lips are. If you want a deep review on the Marvelous Moxie Lipstick you can of course look through the archives for more details on them.
This color is pretty much a perfect compliment to other pieces in the collection like the Adrenaline Rush Powder and Ready Eyeshadow Palette. It completes the whole nude, natural look that Bare Minerals hopes to achieve with the collection. It’s an ideal shade if you like a more beige, nude lip look and I imagine it’ll gain a fair few fans if you really like Kim K’s nude lip look as you can easily achieve that with this shade.
Overall, Take Charge might be a little bit of an intimidating color for some but I’d recommend a try out before deciding to not buy it based on reviews or swatches you’ve seen on the Internet. This is a shade you have to experience in store for yourself especially if you love nudes.
