Bare Minerals Take Charge Marvelous Moxie Lipstick Review & Swatches

Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick Take Charge

Bare Minerals Take Charge Marvelous Moxie Lipstick is a new, limited edition shade introduces with the Bare Minerals The Power Neutrals Collection.

This is a nude rose that’s almost dusky peach to me. It isn’t a color I’d typically wear to be honest because you know me…I’m always OMG living dead girl lips…I want to wear nude lipsticks but I simply can’t. They suck the kawaii from my very soul.

But I can make an exception here.

Bare Minerals Take Charge Marvelous Moxie Lipstick Fall 2013

I’ve reviewed Marvelous Moxie Lipstick ($18) when it originally launched and it still remains a fantastic lipstick to me. This shade is a full coverage lipstick with a creamy consistency that has a satin finish. The finish kinda sorta leans towards semi-matte in my opinion but perhaps its the shade and lack of shimmer that makes me feel that way.

Unlike the regular Marvelous Moxie Lipstick line this ditches the black packaging and embraces a gold mirrored barrel. I find the formula applies easy with a buttery creamy texture that rides across lips with an easy glide. The color has a tendency to go nude beige on my lips but I imagine it’ll vary depending on how pigmented your lips are. If you want a deep review on the Marvelous Moxie Lipstick you can of course look through the archives for more details on them.

Bare Minerals Take Charge Marvelous Moxie Lipstick Swatches

This color is pretty much a perfect compliment to other pieces in the collection like the Adrenaline Rush Powder and Ready Eyeshadow Palette. It completes the whole nude, natural look that Bare Minerals hopes to achieve with the collection. It’s an ideal shade if you like a more beige, nude lip look and I imagine it’ll gain a fair few fans if you really like Kim K’s nude lip look as you can easily achieve that with this shade.

Bare Minerals Take Charge Marvelous Moxie Lipstick FOTD

Overall, Take Charge might be a little bit of an intimidating color for some but I’d recommend a try out before deciding to not buy it based on reviews or swatches you’ve seen on the Internet. This is a shade you have to experience in store for yourself especially if you love nudes.

It’s available at Bare Minerals Boutiques or online at www.bareescentuals.com

I love this color and it looks amazing on you with the inner rim liner!! I’m with you on the “nudes.” I have to be really, really careful.

    Hi Muse,

That’s so funny! I was looking at your pictures from the blush and eyeshadow reviews and couldn’t help think how pretty, soft, and pulled together you looked. The lips actually stood out to me, and I think it’s because it’s such a “nude” look on you. LOL! I like it, though!

Muse – You look gorgeous! I LOVE the nude lip, but usually have to layer it with Tarte Lipsurgence in Buff to avoid the dead girl look. I was a little hesitant based on your swatch (because I dont care for straight-up beige), but seeing how it softened your super-pigmented lips, I think I’m going to have to try it out. Thanks!

I’m a big fan of nude lips, but I do agree it’s not everyone’s “thing”. That said, I do feel everyone can pull it off, when the right shade is chosen. This particular shade will be flattering on a vast spectrum, and it may be a good intermediary shade for those wanting to try going lighter.

I’ll be skipping this one, however; I just prefer the palest of nudes as a matter of taste.

LOVE the case, and I think for a nude this is a great one on you. You might like it better if you do a really dark smoldering eye look and slightly darker blush. When you go more ‘natch’ with the makeup I think more color on lips is more flattering. JMO and I hope I don’t buy this. LoL

I’m like you, I prefer deep or bright colors as opposed to nudes, but I do have a few nude shades that are wearable. This one looks like one of the more wearable ones. I *really* like how it looks on you though! Not washed out at all, and I think it looks fab with your big eyes!

I bought this last week and really like it; the color is just deep enough to avoid the dreaded concealer lips look. I agree with the others comments, too..this color looks lovely on you, Muse! You may need to rethink your aversion to nude-ish lips. I will say that if I used the very light accompanying gloss from this collection on top of Take Charge, it would look way too light.

I am totally not a nude lips girl either but after seeing your look here (I face similar issues as you but my eyes are big and blue), I might. All I can see is your gorgeous eyes! :)
