Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Facial Cleanser Review

Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Facial Cleanser

As you know Clean & Clear has a new Morning Burst Hydrating Collection including a new gel moisturizer I recently reviewed and loved! As part of this collection there is also a new Morning Burst Hydrating Facial Cleanser to go along with the moisturizer.

Wondering if I loved it as much as the moisturizer?

Take a look!

Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Facial Cleanser ($6.99) is the latest cleanser in the Morning Burst family of cleansers. As you know I adore the brightening version of this cleanser so I was excited they had a new hydrating formulation as I have drier skin and can use all the moisture I can get!

This is a water based cleanser that contains “bursting beads”. which contain fruit extracts that provide gently exfoliation as you cleanse. I don’t really like beads in my cleansers or body washes meh….so that is one turn off with this cleanser but outside of that it’s quite lovely.

It has a fresh cucumber almost banana-like scent and has a gel formula which foams up when water is applied. It has a slick feel on skin and does a fine job removing basic makeup however, I prefer using it in the AM when my skin is makeup free. It’s oil free as well for those who can’t use products containing mineral oils.

It foams up to a nice lather and leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean. It feels hydrating during the wash however, it doesn’t leave any major moisture behind after use however, the best part is it leaves skin smooth and doesn’t make my drier skin feel tighter or two sizes too small. I have issues with many drugstore cleansers that leave my skin very tight after use and I had no such issues with this.

Overall, this is a fine basic cleanser for use with your Clarisonic or on its own to remove makeup or just to wash your face in the AM. Clean & Clear always does a rather great job with these budget friendly cleansers and this new hydrating formula is just as lovely as the others in the range.

Do like!

It’ll be available this July at drugstores.

Does it have the same cooling/refreshing feel after rinsing like the brightening one? (I go to school so that cleanser is my lifesaver when I wake up in the morning!)

    • the Muse

not really jane! I get that feeling too from the brightening one but not from the hydrating one 🙂

  • Mary

I’ve been searching for this cleanser. I love Clean&Clear and this cleanser sounds right up my alley.

I’ve never heard of a hydrating gel cleanser. I have normal skin, when I wash it gets really dry and uncomfortable though, with nearly any product I’ve tried (I know this is a sign of dry skin, but I have literally no flakey bits (on my face) and I have acne, but I never get oily oily and I never get flakey or tight except when I wash my face) so I’ll have to try this!

  • WendyS

Ooh. I can’t wait to try this! I have dry skin, and am searching for a cleanser to use in the AM with my Clarisonic. Will keep an eye out for it.

Ok I’m gonna start off by saying that this isn’t meant to be rude or mean or anything like that I just seriously don’t understand it.

Why do people complain about cleansers drying out their skin? Cleansers are meant to wash all the oil sweat dirt and grime off your face of course it’s gonna dry it out lol, isn’t that why we use a moisturizer afterwords? Same with with shampoo it’s like yeah it does dry out my hair that’s why I use conditioner. When I see people talking about dry shampoos I think of someone not taking a shower for a week and instead throwing some baby powder on lol

    • the Muse

spoken like a person with oily skin ;-D hehe…! I’m really dry so I def don’t want my face to be tight after cleansing :-/ moisturizer afterward def helps but I don’t want to further strip any moisture from my skin so I def avoid anything that is going to do that! LOL agreed on the dry shampoos, those are a mystery I’ll never understand. I wash my hair daily and I don’t care how many people say it’s bad for my locks! I just don’t feel clean without washing my hair!

      • Cj

Hmmm I guess that makes sense then, same I shampoo daily, I feel gross if I don’t, every time someone goes on saying how they only shampoo once or twice a week I’m cringing on the inside and slowly stepping away from them lol! Dunno what could be in that hair :X

        • the Muse

what’s your skin type overall? are you oily or combo? dry skin is a bitch mister…seriously I avoid anything that makes me tighter like the plague! Even with moisturizer after I see have that tightness…:-/ LOL ditto! seriously that’s just gross. my friend swears she won’t even wet her hair when in the shower. WHAT?! She shampoos it four times a week only.

          • Cj

My skins a little weird, I’m not really oily, I’m not really dry, I usually only have to blot/powder once when I’m wearing makeup, I tend to go with moisturizers meant for oily combo skin like gels because I like the lightweight feel. If anything I’d say I’m somewhere between smack dab normal and slightly dry.

          • the Muse

sounds combo…I like “normal” skin products does anyone in the world have normal skin!? I’m jealous if they do haha! feels like an Urban Legend!

    • Brittanie

It’s not supposed to, it’s really meant just to clean your face, but it may clear acne for some people, especially if u only have a little bit of acne. My friend had a few pimples and they went away after she used this. So it might help acne, but it also might not. Maybe try a cleanser specially made for acne if acne is your main skin concern. 🙂 hope this helped! 🙂

    -st ives facial scrub
-I apply this cleanser with clarisonic
    -applying moisturizer
my skin it not in perfect condition though clarisonic help my skin in better exfoliation.. which toner is best for oily skin ?
I will appreciate if I get some helpful advice from you dear Isabella 🙂

    • chloe

I know you wanted Isabella’s advice but I think I can help you as well.
Clean & Clear had some good toners that get rid of oil really well. I have super oily skin and I use Clean & Clear and my skin doesn’t get oily for the rest of the day! 🙂

      Hope this helped,
      Chloe
