Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer

I know you might not want to hear about it if you’re a student but just in time for back to school here comes Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Collection.

I’m positive I heard groaning and whining.

But back to school isn’t all bad. It’s kinda fun as that’s when great new beauty products launch eh? And one you should include on that list of back to school goodies is def the Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer ($6.99) that’s launching with this collection!

This one gets a Muse Approval too!

Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer Swatches

Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer new gel moisturizer is a fab find for the cooler weather ahead as not only is it lightweight but also incredibly moisturizing for even the driest skin out there.

Although marketed towards teen and a teen I am not, this gel moisturizer is pretty much perfect for anyone wanting a lightweight yet highly hydrating moisturizer. The new Morning Burst Hydrating Collection is inspired by Asian beauty trends and if you know anything at all about Asian skincare you know how there are a multitude of gel moisturizers available in Korea.

The best part about Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer is it’s alcohol-free which isn’t common with gel moisturizers. It contains a high level of glycerin and is a water base moisturizer that absorbs easily while sealing moisture into your skin. This is a thicker gel consistency which absorbs easily however, I do recommend a small amount as too much and it leaves a very hydrating film on your skin. So a little goes a very long way. It has a fruity almost banana and cucumber-like fragrance that’s very pretty but might be too much for some so you might want to sniff prior to purchasing while at the drugstore.

It’s not greasy nor is it oily it simply replenishes moisture on first application and leaves skin quite smooth, supple, and well hydrated for makeup. It’s light enough for daily use yet strong enough to use overnight as well to restore moisture as you sleep.

I think it might be a little too much for oily skin but if you use the less is more rule you should be a-ok! As for drier, duller skin like my own you’ll absolutely adore it.

So happy you liked this product, I’ve been wanting to try this as cheaper alternative to philosophy’s take a deep breath. Thanks Muse! <3

How does it compare to the Origins Ginzing Energy Boosting Moisturizer? Would it be a better budget friendly option?

  • Tohnia

I NEED this! I’m back to teaching swimming and my beloved coconut oil isn’t enough to save my skin after my shower. I’m going to look into this as an option for those days I know I’ll be teaching!

  • Lara

I have been super excited about this and was waiting for you to review this! Hells yeah, I’m buying this tomorrow

  • Katie

Okay, you got me hooked at gel based WITHOUT the alcohol and sealed the deal with the scent description – bananas and cucumber – um, yes please!

  • Suzesco

I love clean and clear products!!
I just did a post where I discussed my favorite face wash.
It’s the the continuous control for acne skin, and seriously it is the best!
    Hope you try it.

I still have a little bit of a grudge against Kohl’s because they were always the first ones to have the back to school commercials. And my 10 year reunion was last month!

Hey would this make a good hand cream? Or does it leave your skin kinda tacky or greasy?

    • the Muse

mmmmm no….it would probably feel really odd on your hands…kinda leaves a film behind.

  • Cait

I picked this up today because of your recommendation… I never would have tried clean and clear but I trust you! Haha. I just ran out of my garnier dry skin gel and I was going to just get that again but I like how this one is alcohol free. I’m excited to try it… My poor dry skin needs all the help it can get lol

  • Libby

Oh yes! Another gel moisturizer! I love gels and as soon as I spot this, I’ll be picking it up!

Thanks for the rec and review, Muse 🙂

With all the dimethicone in the formula, do you think this would work as a sort of primer under foundation as well?

  • SINDY

    Hi!
I just wanted to recommend this product. it smells amazing. I love that is not heavy or neither oily and also drys very fast! I bought the face wash and it came with a really small one so we could try it and so far I love it. I carry it with me on my purse but i am running out of it so definitively i am going back to Walgreen for a bigger bottle.

Need to find this stuff! I’ve been wanting a lightweight moisturizing gel. Just looked at CVS and no luck, hopefully I’ll find it soon!

  • Arie

Is this okay to use around the eyes? It doesn’t sting or emphasize dry patches? I saw it at Wal-Mart and was very hesitant to buy it in case it wouldn’t hydrate enough or that it would just feel weird or even sting my sensitive spots.

  • Stephanie H.

How would you compare this to garnier’s moisture rescue gel?

  • Judith M.

Omg, just bought it yesterday and I love it! I had Clean and Clears dual action moisturizer and I really didn’t like it but this gel moisturizer is amazing! Totally recommend it!

I just picked this up yesterday!
My skin is incredibly oily; it absolutely does not tolerate any cream/oil moisturizers, so gel is the way for me.
I have just switched over from the Garnier gel moisturizer, but the jar container always had me thinking : Unsanitary.
The smell for the clean&cleat is nice, but completely unnecessary.
Also, it contains dyes and I just found out that Clean & Clear does test on animals. How unfortunate 🙁

    Hello Muse!
I have always been a fan of Clean & Clear products ever since I was a teen! But, I just wanna ask, before I purchase this product, is this to gonna irritate people with sensitive skin? And would you consider this as a good dupe for Clinique’s Moisturizer with the + on it?
Would like to hear from you!

  • Derek

Looks like this replaces the Morning Glow Morning Burst moisturizer from Clean & Clear, which I am a huge fan of because of its SPF protection. Unfortunately, this looks to be a smaller bottle (than the 4oz) I used to be getting and no SPF protection, which is important for me considering I’m pretty young and have already had minor dermatological surgery on my forehead to remove cancerous cells from sun exposure.

I really wish they would carry more SPF products in their line, and at a competitive price point.

Do companies send bloggers products to review before they are available in stores often? Thanks Muse! I can’t wait to try this out! 🙂
