About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

OK… Now I want this one, too, if only for the brushes & mascara. I’m addicted to brushes, and I’m almost due for more mascara (and this is one I really like!), so although I could, and probably would pass on the shadows, I think I can actually justify this one.

All I can say is…wow. It’s amazing how much stuff is on the Sims game now (the Kraken AND Cthulhu)! I think the only time I played this game is when it first came out years ago…a lot has changed!!! 🙂

I was very excited to get this kit a couple of days ago. I think I ordered the minute it appeared on Ulta’s site. I have to say that I was very disappointed and ended up returning it yesterday. The Rose eyeshadow was not the normal consistency that I think of for LORAC. It was dry and virtually non existent on my lids. I am fair and have some redness, but I primed with LORAC’s primer and used Beige e/s single as a base. The brushes are synthetics and I couldn’t pack on the lid shade with the flat brush. The crease brush applied nicely and so did the liner. I would have kept the kit if not for my biggest disappointment. Spice e/e is a sparkly reddish brown, not the beautiful, shimmery taupe I love from Picture Perfect palette.

I had also purchased a collection from HSN (http://www.hsn.com/products/lorac-cosmetics-red-carpet-collection-for-eyes-and-lips/7121059) which I highly recommend. This kit is mostly matte, has Persuasion, Light Brown and Espresso singles, Rendezvous Blush, a Lips with Benefits in a soft pink, and mascara. For $29 (I bought when they had free shipping) this is a much better bargain and (to me) higher quality products. I used the extra $8 towards a Real Techniques set with an Ulta coupon and sale and ended up spending only a little more.
