Lumene Time Freeze Anti-Age CC Color Correcting Cream Review & Swatches

Lumene Time Freeze Anti-Age CC Color Correcting Cream

As you know Lumene has introduced a new Time Freeze Anti-Age CC Color Correcting Cream that’s launching in drugstores this July for the Fall 2013 season. I really thought that Lumene did a fairly nice job with their Vitamin C+ Illuminating Anti-Age BB Cream so I was pretty excited to explore their CC Cream formula.

Lumene Time Freeze Anti-Age CC Color Correcting Cream will be available in two shade selections (light and medium) and promises a color correcting formula with an SPF 20 that multitasks at a few different things.

Let’s take a look!

Lumene Time Freeze Anti-Age CC Color Correcting Cream ($14.99) comes in a 1 oz tube so it is a little smaller, at the same price, as the BB Cream which is 1.7 oz in size.

This is a good deal thinner in consistency than the BB Cream and isn’t as creamy. It isn’t a typical color adjusting formula we’re seeing from Asia at the moment so you will have to fit in with the Light or Medium tone they offer unfortunately. I used the Light which is a light ivory with beige and slight pink undertones. I find it is sheerer so I can get away with the Light shade without it look pasty on my skin or unnatural. The color is very fresh once applied and brightens up my skin while easing dullness. You have to remember this is a color correcting formula so it corrects but doesn’t necessarily cover major problems. It’ll ease redness quite well in my opinion, brightens up skin, and covers slight imperfections but won’t conceal major problems such as acne scarring, heavier rosacea issues, etc…

The texture is beautiful to work with. Although thinner and not nearly as creamy as Lumene’s BB Cream it still has a fairly nice bit of creaminess to it. It has a certain hydrating feel on skin with a watery-like texture that moisturizes delicately without creating greasiness or shine. It has a light subtle fresh fragrance that disappears once applied on skin. The SPF 20 is a little low, I’d have preferred something a little higher but outside of this the formula was quite lovely. It wore on me for a solid five hours and showed minor wear at hour six and faded a good deal by hour seven.

Lumene Time Freeze Anti-Age CC Cream Swatches

Overall, Lumene Time Freeze Anti-Age CC Color Correcting Cream has only two things against it as far as I’m concerned. That would be the lower SPF and the lack of shades. Outside of this I’d say the formula is quite lovely on a whole. If you do fit into the shade range and don’t mind the lower SPF this is a fairly nice color correcting formula that perfects skin, creates a flawless finish, and brightens up skin while offering very basic hydration for Summer wear. The coverage is light, breathable, and fairly natural!

I like this one!

I wish it was self adjusting but outside of that I’d say it was quite lovely!

It’s available now at drugstores.

Anyone try it?

Love to hear your thoughts!

How would you say the light shade compares to the Lumene BB cream?

    • the Muse

i think the light shade of lumene’s bb cream is better suited for me kristen, it’s more of a medium fair with beige undertones and no pink. this has a lot more pink to it.

Which formula do you prefer Muse, BB or CC cream? I can wear the BB cream alone as my foundation and its just lovely. But, the CC cream may do a better job of easing some minor redness. Am wondering if the CC cream is better suited as a primer? Now I will have to try the CC cream!!

I like the BB Cream better from Lumene than the CC Cream but if you want something lighter this will do for Summer 🙂 I don’t really use this or any CC Cream to prime with to be honest, just seems too much product to apply bb and cc cream. I use one or the other.

I don’t underestand why companies are making BB creams and CC creams without a higher spf of 30 to 50. Looks nice, otherwise.

Ooh, thanks for the review Muse! That looks like it could be light enough, though I’m not sure about the pink undertones. Did you happen to notice how the color compares to Vichy’s BB in Light? The SPF is a little disappointing, but you got me to finally start using a big SPF every day (Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid, and my skin thanks you), so I look at sunscreen in makeup as a bonus rather than primary protection.

MJ, my pleasure! 🙂 hope it was helpful! i didn’t compare them tbh…I think this has more pink as I recall the vichy fit well for me.

I LOL’ed out loud when I read the “apply at least every 2 hours” and “children under 6 months: ask a doctor”.
First, I’m sorry, but who the hell wants to apply any base product more than once a day(aka foundation, which is pretty much what I consider a good BB or CC cream)? I mean, I put other makeup on afterwards… I don’t want to apply this 4 times just throughout my work shift! That means I’d probably have to reapply blush every 4 hours too. That’s just silly!
And with the children under 6 months… That just cracks me up. Do people put this type of thing on their children??? If so, WHY? I am so curious now, haha!

Kimmyyy, most products with SPF are talking about reapplying for sun protection. If you are using any SPF product for sun protection, it will probably need to be reapplied every few hours. Additionally, the instructions are referring to continuous sun exposure. So if you are in direct sunlight for 2 straight hours, to receive the benefits of this product’s spf, you would need to reapply. This is because sunlight degrades the SPF ingredient. If you are only in direct sunlight for 15 minutes out of the day, even if those 15 minutes are spread throughout a 6 hour period, you would not need to reapply for sun protection.

This has very good (almost too much) coverage, but the medium is too light for me. It looks pinkish on my olive skin. Still, it works well as SPF primer. The texture is lovely.

I love the CC cream in fair… Every time I wear it…. (Which is every time I go out in public), I get so many compliment on my completion, and everyone says I look so young.

Sooooo… Now I’m going to try. The light BB cream as well.

    Love these products!!!!!
