Maybelline Seashore Frosts Color Tattoo Eyeshadow Review & Swatches
Maybelline Seashore Frosts is possibly my favorite of the Summer 2013 Color Tattoo Eyeshadows launched. Although it suffers the same issues I had with many of the Summer shades I can’t help but love this VERY complex and unique shade.
If you can find it I highly urge you to grab a pot (or maybe two!).
Seashore Frosts is one of eight limited edition shades that Maybelline launched earlier this Summer. I’ve expressed quite a bit of annoyance with the Summer shades as the formula has been highly inconsistent with what I’ve seen from the Color Tattoo Eyeshadow range.
Seashore Frosts like many of the newer shades of Color Tattoo Eyeshadow is a very slippery texture which makes it a little challenging to blend at times. I always find cream eyeshadows difficult to blend with fingers when they are super slick with a slippery texture as I feel like I’m blending the color away rather than onto my lid. In this case, I decided to use the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow Brush and successfully piled color on, patted it into place, and was able to get a fairly good wash of the shade onto my lids. It does have a slow set time so you really have to be patient during this time! When it does finally dry down you’ll find it is quite budge proof without issues of fading or creasing or at least that was the case on my drier eyes. This was a relief as many of the shades from Summer had a similar texture and ended up fading or creasing within an hour or two of application.
Part of the brilliance here is of course, the shade. Many of the Summer shades had a duochrome effect something I am not the least interested in to be honest. But in the case of Seashore Frosts the effect is stunning. This looks like a gray blue in the pot with a golden iridescence. It applies with a faint metallic finish and creates this very interesting illusion as it reflects blue, purple, and gold. One of my favorite eye looks is combining gold with blue eyeshadow and this creates that effect with one simple shade!
Seashore Frosts is a must have. It has a few hiccups but the color is stunning and well worth the pick up!
Muse Approved.
It should be at drugstores now I’ve seen the display at CVS still.
