Rimmel Stay Glossy 3D Lipgloss Review & Swatches
Rimmel Stay Glossy 3D Lipgloss makes its way to US shores for Fall 2013 in six juicy shades. Rimmel Stay Glossy 3D is a new variation of the Stay Gloss formula that injects multi-coloured shimmer in the finish so lips appear fuller and shinier. It’s your lips in 3D!
Ahhhhh! 3D lips and Google Glass the current future wave I’m riding.
Take a look!
Rimmel Stay Glossy 3D Lipgloss ($4.99) promises a full six hours of wear…yeah, sure. That isn’t exactly the wear time you’ll be seeing here my friends so close the door right away.
But in other news this is a fairly nice budget friendly formula.
These come in the regular Stay Glossy tube with a mirror top and a flat tipped sponge applicator for application. Glancing at it it just looks the same as the Stay Glossy packaging and formula so take a second glance and you’ll notice the 3D on the tube.
These glosses have a thinner consistency with a lightweight texture and a buttery smooth feel that’s kinda sorta slightly silicone-y (think L’Oreal Infalliable Lipgloss and you’ll know what I mean). Like the original formula they pack a nice bit of shine but these new shades all have a good deal of iridescent-like shimmer. I tried two colors and both were sheerer with a good deal more sparkle than any actual color but they do have a fair tint to them so they aren’t completely colorless on lips. They wear very comfortably without being sticky or tacky nor do they migrate. They do not have a flavor or a fragrance.

The lighter texture isn’t exactly allowing for a long hour wear, definitely not the six hours they are marketed for. If you get three hours in count yourself lucky as the lack of stickiness means they fade fairly fast.
Like the original formula Stay Glossy 3D is a nicely formulated budget lipgloss. Mmmm the six hour claim disappoints if you’re expecting a long wearing gloss and the lack of shades makes one wonder if you’re just better off settling on the original formula which has more variety.
I wouldn’t say no to these if they was a BOGO offer but I’m not sure you need to seek them out as a must have!
