Clinique All About Shadow Primer for Eyes is Clinique’s new eyeshadow primer that can be used alone for a natural look or used with your shadow to improve wear, allowing them to wear long and strong up to twelve hours.
This comes in a tiny tube with a sponge tip applicator for application. I would suggest a trip to your counter to check our shades as I tried the color Moderately Fair (Shade 2) and it runs quite dark. I use Benefit Lemon Aid to prep my lids as without it they look quite tired. I also like products like Trish McEvoy Eye Base and Laura Mercier Eye Basics so I definitely see the appeal to a tinted primer product which I can use to either prep with it just as a natural, nude way to brighten up my eyes. All About Shadow Primer for Eyes runs sheerer but there is some tint here that can neutralize redness, conceal darkness, or veins on your lids.
The texture is a thicker cream with a silicone-y finish that adheres well to lids creating a protective layer of sorts over your lids for eyeshadow to stick to. It’s slightly tacky at first application but sets within a few seconds to a smooth, velvety layer. I like that the formula doesn’t separate and it remains a consistently creamy texture with each and every use. It creates a very good layer so shadows remain crease-free as the day progresses without showing signs of wear or migration. Indeed on my drier eyes it will easily allow my shadow to remain crease-free for well over a twelve hour period without a hiccup. Those with more oily lids will appreciate the semi-matte finish that show soak up excess oil as well!
Overall, Clinique All About Shadow Primer for Eyes does a great job keeping my shadow wearing strong and long.
