Etude House Ice Shot Freeze Foam Review

Etude House Ice Shot Freeze Foam

They tell me the dog days of Summer are ahead so maybe the Etude House Ice Shot Freeze Foam I recently purchased will come in handy! But I admit since getting home I’m in Fall mode! Plus it has been a little cooler lately and I haven’t even had the AC on in my house for the past two nights as it’s been mild enough to sleep without it.

But that’s no reason to believe Summer is over so Etude House Ice Shot Freeze Foam will stay firmly in my tote just in case.

What is it?

You’ll see…!

You might think you’re pretty familiar with products like Etude House Ice Shot Freeze Foam especially if you own or tried similar cooling aids like Dr Jart Ice Cooler, Etude House Aqua Sherbet Ice Toner, and Etude House Aloha Ice Sherbet Primer. Fact of the matter is ice cooling mists aren’t a terribly new or innovative product so when Ice Shot Freeze Foam launched earlier in July I wasn’t really all that excited about the idea.

However….this is NOT a cooling mist! It’s a rather funky cooling foam! Where as most of these icy mists are kinda like a dry ice experience this mist is actually a foam. Basically you will not, just like icy mists, be spraying it directly on your face! It comes in a aerosol can that you’ll shake and apply to the back of your arm using a back and forth motion. It kinda reminds me of silly string as it squirts out! You’ll basically form a large bandage size of foam as you mist the foam back and forth over your arm. Build it up as much as you can and as largely as you can. It’ll feel SUPER cold on the back of your arm but not unpleasant. Now if you’re done just wait a few seconds for it to set. It’ll pop and crackle a little bit as it sets in place. After that you can peel it gently off and it’ll leave you with a fluffy, popping, crackling bit of foam which resembles a bandage of sorts. You can apply it on your face now. Just pat the foam onto your face, the back of your neck, or anywhere you want to cool off.

Nifty right? It basically gives an icy sensation anywhere you apply it! It’s kinda fun to use on a super hot day or even when you just step out of a hot shower and want to close your pores after they’ve opened courtesy the steam in your shower.

It might seem like a silly beauty item but it is a fun one and on a really hot, warm day it’s a great little product to whip out of your purse for cooling off!

I’d highly recommend trying it out for size. It’s just freaking fun and beauty should be fun 🙂

Anyone try it?

Do share!

You can grab it from sellers like F2PLUS1 on E-bay (not affiliated).

I purchased this item.

Thank you for posting so many reviews of non-US brands! Thanks to you, I finally took the leap and ordered some Korean BB cream (Innisfree Long Wear, since the Innisfree BB cream you reviewed is no longer available?), the peach choux and angel tears cream. It arrived today and I’m already loving the BB cream more than my regular foundation! Yay! I’d never have even heard of Innisfree, Étude House or Secret Key if not for you. Thanks again for all your awesome reviews.

Can says “100% Pure Canada Ice”. I don’t know why that’s so funny to me, I mean what does that even mean? I’m super confused by this product. Does it melt into your skin once you dab it on your face? Or do you just pat on the weird foam bandage like a cotton ball?

    • the Muse

Pure Canada Ice 😀 Pure Dry Canada Ice 😀 It does not, it’s just like a bandage/cotton pad that you dab on your skin and toss away 🙂 it doesn’t absorb at all.

Got it 😀 Thanks for explaining Muse. Pure Canada Ice, imma sing that all day to the tune of Three Blind Mice LOL! Pure Canada Ice, Pure Canada Ice, see how it cools, see how it cools…. Ok I’m losing it!

Haha I’m currently vacationing in Singapore and keep popping into the Etude House stores to see if they have testers of this so I can play with it. Doesn’t look like they’re getting them anytime soon though, if at all ):

I’m not really sure I just got it recently…maybe a month? less if you use it daily?

Hey Muse.. How are you? I came from Indonesia, would like to ask you question if you don’t mind.. Been reading your blog crazily for the past couple weeks, and decide to message you..

I just bought Prime Primer “Classic” from Banila Co recently.. the question is: it it okay to apply the primer on naked skin? or is it better to put it on after applying skin care such as toner, emulsion/lotion, etc? For additional information, I currently use “Flebote” Emulsion from Face Shop, Precious Mineral BB Cream from Etude House as well as the powder I use.. Highly appreciated whatever suggestion you have related primer or any similar product.. Thanks before.. Cheers.. 🙂

Do you think i can straight away use with my oily face without washing my face first? I mean like after school ends and I’m waiting for the bus and it’s very humid then i go use it.. Is it can?? Thanks btw for this review. =)
