Etude House Precious Mineral BB Dation Review & Swatches

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Dation 9

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Dation is testimony to Korea’s sudden trending of rotating or vibrating brush application for BB Creams and foundation. You’ll capture some of this trend backlash later this Fall when Pop Beauty brings together it’s new CC Cream and Buzzing Beauty Sponge for application.

This trend is actually kinda dying down at the moment (which means the US will probably play catch up with it shortly) but for a second there every Korea brand known to man was pairing up their most popular BB Creams with some type of motorized, vibrating or rotating brush! Particularly BRTC who took almost their entire range of BB Cream and placed them in gift boxes with a rather huge handheld vibrating sponges. For the techie and beauty lover this was kinda a dream come true because seriously there is nothing I love more than beauty gadgetry!

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Dation was kinda one of the first kits that popped onto the scene and started some of this trend. It included Etude House Precious Mineral Dation along with a vibrating sponge.

Take a look at some of my thoughts on the set.

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Dation

As a huge fan of Lancome Oscillation I should find Etude House Precious Mineral BB Dation incredibly appealing but for some reason it is a hot mess of a product. I will say that problems aren’t with the vibrating sponge but the foundation itself.

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Dation’s formula is very weak. It contains an SPF 40 and is supposed to act as a whitening nourishing foundation that brightens, moisturizes, and gives skin a refined, healthier appearance. Although they toss around “BB” in the title it is actually just a liquid foundation, nothing more, nothing less. This is actually where I think my issues stem from as I assumed it would be a richer, creamier texture but what you get is more a runny gel consistency. I find the watery consistency of the foundation makes for messy application using fingers, a brush, or the vibrating sponge to apply.

The color is obviously a bit too peach for me with strong beige and yellow undertones. It makes my skin look certainly unhealthy. But color aside the formula also applies with a greasy-like film that transfers easily and never truly sets. The vibrating sponge should be easy enough to use as you can dot your foundation onto your skin and blend out with the vibrating sponge. This typically works incredibly well as I’ve tried sets from BRTC that have the same style of vibrating sponge paired up with BB Cream and never had an issue. Typically I get a flawless, buffed almost airbrushed finish. In this case the sponge feels like it isn’t doing much and the watery texture of the foundation absorbs rather quickly without actually creating any real coverage. The sponge seems to soak up the product and even smears it around in an oily way. Blah!

This does have a knack for oxidizing as well so my face looks orange within an hour and the product fades away by hour two completely. It’s just not a foundation formula that proves easy to apply or wear.

The actual sponge is fun to use and you can of course, pair it up with other BB Creams for better application. This has an on and off switch and features a removable sponge so you can clean it after use. Simply press it on and it’ll vibrant gently as you slowly glide it across your face. The gentle vibrations allow BB Cream or foundations to break down and smooth across your face in an even, soft, airbrushed finish. It sheers our BB Cream so well that you won’t even be able to tell you’re wearing foundation at all but you’re still getting the coverage you’ll need to conceal redness, darkness, etc…! Even if the actual foundation the set comes with is a bust you can still make a ton of use out of the sponge applicator in my humblest!

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Dation gets the normal round of glory from a variety of blogs and I guess it really depends on what you expect from your foundation product. The inclusion of the vibrating sponge is quite welcome as this is an easy way to buff product into your skin for a perfect finish however, nothing can really help a poor foundation and in this case I feel like BB Dation is just an awfully textured foundation product.

Props for gadgetry but next time pair it up with one of your best selling BB Creams Etude House and we’ll call it even!
