Loves this one!
Guerlain Two Spicy Ecrin 2 Couleurs Eyeshadow Duo ($44) comes housed in a slick golden matchbox style compact with a generously sized mirror and dual ended sponge applicators.
The palette is made up of a solid shadow of rich chocolate-y brown and a more luminous shade of orange coral. The more pigmented of the shadows is the brown and the sparkly orange color is used as an overcoat to add pretty luminous shimmer to your completed eye look. You might associate the idea of the palette with products like Sonia Eye Kashuk Shadow Quads.
I was actually pleasantly surprised that the lovely orange produces far more color than I thought it would so it can easily be worn as a color wash on your eyes for a hint of color and a ton of sparkle. Guerlain suggests using it as an overcoat over the brown eyeshadow to add a hint of sparkle. It’s a bit of a flaky texture but applies with very minimal fall out and blends out quite easily for such an unusual texture. I applied it all over my lids for my look below and accented my outer crease with the brown to add depth.
I find the palette unusual as the two shadow formulas are so dramatically different. One being soft, pigmented, and more of a traditional semi-matte formula versus the other being more of a chunkier, flakier almost pressed pigment type texture. Regardless of the contrast in the formula the shades just work well together!
I think the look created using the two shades is very Fall friendly and lovely!
