MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara Review

MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara

I kid you not but in the pasr two weeks I’ve poked my eye out with MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara several times during my testing. Dead serious. Every single time I’ve gone to use it I ended up poking my eyes and smearing it everywhere.

MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara has one of those HUGE club-like applicators that makes a complete mess during application.

This one you don’t need…

MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara promises dramatic lashes with a pigment rich formula that volumizes lashes as it extends and creates curl. Really? Seriously?

MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara Fall 2013

The good news is the rich blacker than black formula is dramatic but that’s the only good news! This clumps lashes together, smudges like a b, and gives all the promises of drama of volume, curl, and length ring completely false after a single application. The ooey-gooey formula makes for an awful mascara experience and paired up with a club-like applicator you end up with a little too much of a good thing (you might wanna swipe down that applicator prior to application or risk some seriously clumpy gooey lashes that stick together after application).

The first cult results in a very heavy lash look and the formula feels like it never truly sets so my lashes kinda stick together and feel “wet” all through the wear which results in smudging hell! I had mascara around places of my eye (like my high brow) that I’ve never had mascara travel before! The formula is way too heavy to keep curl and what little volume this provides just ends up into a clumpy, wet lash look with little to no length.

MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara Before and After

I thought Covergirl Lashblast had some seriously large applicators but MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara’s applicator takes the cake. During application I literally poked myself several times over the course of my two weeks of testing this. This result is mascara ending up everywhere and at one point I was late to work and had to remove ALL my eyeshadow and leave without anything on because this ruined my entire eye look!

AWFUL AWFUL stuff! MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara is evil and anyone who convinces you different probably works for the devil himself.

Don’t waste your cash!

There’s no volume here, no length, no curl, and no drama! There is however, a big hot mess! If you like wet, messy lashes have at it!

What a shame!!!! I like the type of applicator, sad that it falls so short. =[

I bought the the first Extreme Dimension mascara, and it was soooo bad. In general, MAC mascaras have not worked too well for me. There’s a couple that are decent.

    • 8/13/13 21:11 the Muse:

occasionally mac does a good mascara but generally they are skips for me but this one, wow this one was extra bad!

having to redo you eye makeup in a rush is /the worst/. not the preferred way to rush out in the mornings…

    • 8/13/13 23:37 the Muse:

      ugh yes!

  • 8/13/13 23:33 The Beauty Alchemist:

Wow, you did have a time with it. I really like this one , but I agree the brush is hard to use, I get a mess on me as well ( although to be honest more than one mascara does that to me ). I have to be careful , extra with it but I did find it did a really good job of lengthening and adding volume plus no smudging, and I smudge stuff easily. I didn’t like the wet formula as much either and said the same thing in my post wipe that wand good before use.

    • 8/13/13 23:37 the Muse:

ugh horrifying stuff! you def need gentle, slow strokes! it never completely dries which makes a mess!

  • 8/14/13 5:19 Angel:

Is evil…LMAO at this. Sorry you almost blinded yourself :( I’ve never had good luck with MAC mascara. I finally gave up about a decade ago. They do other things very well, but always miss the mark on mascara for some reason.

    • 8/14/13 9:29 the Muse:

LOL seriously dude! me either…on a rare day they make something I like but this, this is horrifying 😀

  • 8/14/13 9:56 Sara:

Yikes! I feel you on the redoing makeup, I had an incident the other morning with my Stila felt tip eyeliner pen in black. I have tiny eyes and I basically drew a black line under my eye instead of on the upper lash line! I had to wipe it all off and start over. It was such a mess… Normally I don’t have problems with that eyeliner tho, I guess I wasn’t awake yet…

    • 8/14/13 10:00 the Muse:

lol had those mornings sara, had those mornings!

  • 8/14/13 12:33 Elissa:

Wow that’s so crazy! I absolutely love this mascara, it’s my HG!! I have the original “in extreme dimension” and it works so well for me!! I bought the new one and have it as a backup so I haven’t opened it yet. Sorry u had a bad experience!

    • 8/14/13 12:41 the Muse:

elissa I’d LOVE to hear your thoughts with this one when you use it curious minds :) that’s quite ok, no need to apologize the perils of a beauty junkie eh?

  • 8/14/13 12:39 telle:

awwwwww! that’s painful to poke your eye out with a mascara! Im glad im not the only one who has ever done it though, so i am 100% confident when i chalk it up to the mascara wand! I have poked myself in the eye on more occassions that i’d like with Benefit’s They’re Real, so its not something that i use anymore…! *lol* Thanks for the review! 😀

    • 8/14/13 12:40 the Muse:

AHAHAHA! LOL!!! I used the shower and had a visitor while i did–i didnt take my eyes off of it!! Needless to say i was doubly quick!! A friend visited while we were on our camping “vacay” with her boyfriend and he had told about a time when he was on tour to Afghanistan and he saw a camel spider and had to stomp it!!! LE EWWW!!! EWWWW!!!! Thats SICK and not it a good way!!
Me thinks it would be wise for us to have some star (i forget the name of the star! LOTR ref) in a bottle to ward off such creepy crawlies!

          • 8/15/13 9:04 the Muse:

damn bless your soul! those things are crazy! never saw one in person and hope never to!!!!!!!!!! OMG ew stop! the visions in my head right now! lol good idea. I fear not even the Phial of Galadriel will ward off creepy crawlers like that!
