MAC Pressed Pigments Review & Swatches Fall 2013
MAC Pressed Pigments are back, AGAIN, for the third time in twelve new shades for the Fall 2013 season. These can applied dry or damp and seem like an appealing pick for shimmer lovers.
What did I think of MAC Pressed Pigments?
They might bring a little too much shimmer for this girl. Can’t believe I said though. Although the formula is dense and less flaky than one would expect I still feel like these have major fall out.
The texture reminds me of a cross between Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eyeshadow (Bobbi has the superior formula) and Urban Decay Stardust Eyeshadow. Using a sponge tipped applicator is key here for application as you can pat the shadow gently onto your lid and reduce fall out as well. They aren’t flaky or
gritty so don’t expect either. I find the texture very smooth during application but the formula itself is firmer to the touch in pan.

I feel like they are quite messy and glitter seems to get everywhere during application which is a rather big turn off as I don’t relish the clean up after use. Through the wear they also have a tendency to “shed” around my face and fall on my cheek bones, under my eyes, etc…..little pieces of glitter just ends up everywhere.
Shades are best applied individually as together they just go muddy and creating a contrasting eye look with two or more shades seems a rather big challenge. So you might wish to limit your eye look to single shade as they dislike playing nicely together.
If you have the time, the patience, and the will you can create some nice sparkly eye looks with these. As for me, I’m too heavy handed and impatient to actually dedicate the time these little guys need to look good.
Too much work, too little time to spare.
Do not like.
