Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Bold Blush Review & Swatches

Marc Beauty Shameless Bold Blush

Marc Jacobs Shameless Bold Blush ($30) recently launched at Sephora and Sephora.com. Well actually, the entire Marc Jacobs Makeup Collection got an early preview on Sephora’s website and should arrive in a variety of stores as we get nearer to Fall.

Let’s take a closer look!

I suppose Marc Jacobs Beauty Collection hopes to hit the Tom Ford mark but it slightly misses it with more uneventful packaging and a smaller range of products. This is luxurious makeup however, the modern edge and classic lines of the palettes seems unremarkable to me. The Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Bold Blush comes in a snap closure pouch with a brush for application. The pouch is welcome but I’d prefer the actual blush compact to be big enough to hold the brush. I find tossing the brush into the pouch means you end up with split hairs, etc…the actual compact is a solid black with a large silver clasp closure, I don’t like how exaggerated the clasp is to be honest! It’s very simple and basic…it borders elegant but something is missing to tip it over into the realms of sophistication.

The blush contains 0.15 oz for $30 so not a TON of product for your buck but not too little either.

Even though the packaging and size isn’t quite right for me I will say the formula was delicious.

Shameless Bold Blush is vivid, bold, bright, and incredibly pigmented. I tried the shade 210 Irresistible which is a warm terracotta orange. It’s everything you’d want in a warmer orange shade! It’s very pigmented yet easy enough to sheer out. It’ll wear incredibly on both fairer and darker skin tones. It’s dense yet still silky and applies and blends easily for such a vivid shade. The texture is lightweight on my face and creates a nice overall glow. The soft, satiny finish does not contain sparkle or shimmer but still produces a natural, healthy glow. Supposedly the formula is infused with bio-lipids and essential amino acids.

I got a solid 12 hours out of the wear over the two days I tested it out without it fading or losing intensity through the day.

Overall, although the packaging disappointed, Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Bold Blush has an excellent formula. It’s actually cheaper than I thought it would be as I really expected some inflated prices from the Marc Jacobs Makeup range but was pleasantly surprised they did fall into a mid-range pricing that did make them an indulgence but not one you’ll feel guilty about buying if you know what I mean. If you love blushes I’m sure you’ll adore this. I actually purchased two other shades after trying this sample and I’ll review those shortly for you….I really liked the formula and thought the colors were incredibly vivid and pretty! Plus I loved the strong wear!

Love this blush on you! Can I ask what product you have on your lips?

I bought the shade promiscuous and absolutely love it!! I’m quite tan and agree that the pigmentation is phenomenal and it wears amazingly. This blush wears on me as well as my favorite tarte blushes!!

  • LINDARRAGNAR

This coral shade looks really great on you muse!!!
I agree the packaging on the whole line is a bit off. But most of the things look cool!

I just purchased the MJ Highliner Gel Crayon in “Th(ink)” which is a deep purple with a hint of navy and sparkle. It’s gorgeous: glides on like a dream, and wears beautifully. No smudging and creasing on my oily lids, even if I don’t use primer. I’m also really intrigued by MJ’s nail polish — which I hardly ever wear — but the colors are so beautiful, I think I may start! I tried Petra, Secret Lover, and Sally yesterday. Petra is an amazing color!

I think this collection kind of missed the marks for me…high price point and lovely packaging but somehow I just don’t get a high end feel like Dior or even Nars. Anyone agree?

I almost bought one of the blushes last night. I’m kind of glad I waited until the review. I did end up with a couple items from the collection. A lipstick and nail polish (I am so in love with the Marc Jacob polishes).

Oh my god, I have to disagree and say I am in love with the package. If they put the brush inside, either the package would be HUUUGE or the brush would be too small and unusable. Like from mee!

  • Quinctia

At first, I thought the clasp complaint was a nitpick, but then the next shot of it showed it in its full, oversize glory!

I like the silver clasp as an idea, but that one’s nearly comically oversized!

  • Ruthless

I was pleasantly surprised by MJ’s line-the lipglosses and nail polishes are DIVINE. Beautiful colours! Eyeshadows also.

The foundation was a miss for me, too orange to begin with it oxidized even more orange even with primer.

I adore the packaging. Since I tend to draw myself closer to purchasing orange blushes for my complexion I must say I am indeed happy with your swatch. I am honestly loving how it looks on. I will be trying out myself. Thanks for the review 🙂

I spotted these at my local Sephora the other day – it was so hard to resist them! I have enough blush for an entire army, so I convinced myself to pass. Now I want one even more!

  • Alicia

I had the *exact opposite* experience when I swatched the lighter colors, including the beautiful cool lavender. They felt very “hard” and I didn’t think I’d get much color payoff even though I was testing something meant to be intentionally pale. I thought the shadow palettes were excellent, though, and I will eventually $$ for one of those!

  • Ashley

This blush shade does look beautiful, I like the originality of his personality but I agree with you Muse its not very practically for the public. I love the eyeshadow palettes! So versatile in their color selections! Makes the $58 pricetag seem worth it.

Right now I’m loving the gel eyeliners. They slide on like “BUTTA”
and don’t budge. Adding it to my wish list of things I really don’t need :)))))

are they!? was quite curious about the gel eyeliners Ashley ugh something else to lem ;D
