Pixi Softly Smoky Crayon 9

Thank god for effortless beauty products like the new Pixi Softly Smoky Crayon. For the smoked out eye n00bs this waterproof eye crayon makes smoky eyes a snap!

Take it from me I’m not exactly the killer queen of smudging but easy to use pencils like this make the job a snap!

Pixi Softly Smoky Crayon

The Pixi Softly Smoky Crayon ($18) is a newly launched dual sided eye pencil available in three shade selections for Fall 2013. Oily lids take note this pencil is bulletproof as once it sets it isn’t going anywhere so you’ll have a long wearing eye look until you decide to take it off.

Supposedly the formula even contains caffeine to give an energizing effect (what? I need me some energy today) and chamomile to sooth. The pigment rich pencil has a dual side that includes a chubbier tipped pencil on one side and a slimmer more precise one on the other. Pearl powder gives the pencils a lovely golden hue. The pencil isn’t super creamy and has more of a dense texture which is why it smudges out so easily and gives eyes that sultry look with minimal application know how. I like using it on a freshly prepped lid with a nude, natural shade of eyeshadow like Bobbi Brown Ivory or Nude Beach. Any nude beige shade is perfect just make sure it isn’t too pigmented as it’ll take away from the smudging effect you’ll achieve using this pencil. Line the top of your lash line with the chubbier side of the pencil, make the line thick but not too thick. Now take a q-tip or a pointed brush of some sort and rub it gently over that line smudging it out. Use the smaller more precise point on the opposite end of the pencil to line your lower lash and water line.

This looks gorgeous! Do you by any chance own the Becca Cabrera pencil? I’m super curious if these are similar shades. I was obsessed with getting the Becca pencil and sadly never did. Thanks in advance if you know:)

  • Daniela

No prob:) I think I’ll pick it up anyhow and see if it looks good. Thanks!

Ok because I’m a weird obsessive I put your swatch and a few other swatches of the Becca liner in a word document to compare. Different skin tones aside they look pretty similar:) The bronzy/violet side of Pixi looks a bit like both sides of the Becca pencil mixed. Squee!

Oh one last question if you don’t mind…how does this color compare to Pixi’s copper glow liner? Are they similar at all either? (Lol god I’m such an obsessive junkie)

hey daniela! lol! dedication 😀 I wish I had the liner to compare for you! It is nothing like pixi copper glow, I must say that’s the more superior shade…but it is close ;-D hope that helps!?

What a lovely looking product! I will definitely have to give this a try next time I am in Target! Thanks for the great review 🙂

Pretty! The Pixie eyeliners are always a complete disaster at the Target I go to (broken, missing colors, tip smashed). I think I’ll just order online. Thanks for reviewing – I’m always on the hunt for eyeliners that won’t slide off my oily lids!

This looks great! I am abysmal at putting eyeliner on correctly, but that’s because I only started wearing makeup a few years ago. Hopefully this will make the task a bit easier.
