The Ultimate Summer Legs

Gillete Venus & Olay Razor

The weather is finally starting to warm up around here and my legs are starting to make a reappearance after hibernating for the winter and even the spring. Spring was a bit chilly this year with a good deal of rain so there weren’t many opportunities for dresses, skirts, or shorts. I hope to redeem that now this summer! The Gillette Venus & Olay Razor in the newest Sugarberry scent is just the ticket to getting my legs smooth and perfect for shorts.

Seriously, keeping your legs smooth is a full time job sometimes which is why you need a good razor handy to get a great close shave. The Gillette Venus & Olay Sugarberry Razor contains five blades allowing for a close shave. The soft grip handle allows for comfortable control of the razor as you shave. But the best part of the razor is the fact that you don’t need separate shaving cream to get a smooth shave as the razor has built in Olay Moisture Bars located on either side of the razor which help lock in skins moisture for less dryness vs. the Breeze razor over time and take the place of shaving cream. These bars have a sweet scent called Sugarberry! When you’re done just pop the razor into its storage caddy that you can tack onto the tiles in your shower stall.

Having a good razor at home will save you a good deal of money on laser, electrolysis, or waxing treatments and makes hair removal at home easier and more efficient.

Most women prefer a wet shave as it’s easy on our legs plus mess-free as we can do it in the shower.

For a smooth, close shave follow these tips:

  • Make sure your razor blade is fresh and is of good quality. The Venus & Olay Razor has five blades which allow for a close, comfortable shave and once your blades go blunt it’s easy enough to purchase refills.
  • Take a warm, hot shower to soften hair.
  • Some suggest shaving down your legs before shaving upwards as it has longer lasting results. This is actually what I do. I shave down and proceed to shave upwards after so you get a double shave experience that gives you a little longer in between shaving.

Since the Venus & Olay Razor has built in moisture bars you don’t need to go the extra step with shaving cream or soap however, I do suggest following up, after your legs are dry, with a good body cream such as Olay lotion to provide more moisture and smoothness to skin.

I prefer a men’s razor. They just handle better for some reason. Plus my bf and I use the same kind so I can steal his blades when I run out! haha I hate shaving my legs though. It just seems like such a chore. Plus my skin is so sensitive that I have to be careful. I’m not one of those people that can shave everyday or I get the ouchies!

ME TOO! lol! I sometimes use the mach 3 ones (green ones)…they really give a super close shave 😀 oh no! 🙁

Those are the ones I use too. Haha I have since high school I think. It really seems like it doesn’t irritate me as much.

Wow, Muse, based on this review I might try this razor. I’ve been using the Schick Intuition for years, but the refill razors are so expensive and frankly I’m a bit bored by them. The Sugarberry scent sounds appealing and I’ve heard good news about the Venus razors. I just hope it doesn’t irritate my skin; for some reason or another, the skin on my legs is really delicate and irritates & knicks easily. Wish me luck!

hey susan 😀 awww…you sensitive? GOOD LUCK! 😀 there are always coupons around for the venus ones as well which makes them a little more affordable!

I’ve never taken a razor to my legs; strictly a depilatory cream gal. I’ve even switched from shaving my armpits to using Nair there too, and I much prefer the results. But I’ve got super fine, easily breakable, mostly blond hair so the cream is a good candidate for me to begin with. 🙂

Wish I could I’m allergic or something! anytime I use one I get a serve rash!

I feel like shaving my legs is one of those things that could go very wrong. I still struggle to get my eyelashes properly curled.

i dont like this one. it flips flops too long and the bar doesnt last long. however the shick one with the big bar i love! u can shave parts you never thought with that one because i never had a cut or rash from it. have u tried it muse?

I can’t shave everyday. My legs won’t tolerate it and for another reason, I’m lazy! The best razor I have ever tried is a men’s one. It’s by Gilette but for the life of me I can’t remember the exact name for it, but it’s awesome. Keeps my legs smoother for a longer period of time over any razor I have ever used. I wish I could use deplatory creams, but when I remove them I also take off the top layer of skin. I swear it looks as though I have a severe burn. Uber allergic to them! But I may have to look for this razor the next time I’m looking for new ones. I would like to give these a whirl! Thanks Muse <3

mach 3 by chance? because I use that and love it hehe ;-D I can’t use deplatories either, I get a terrible rash from them even using them for a short time 😀 my pleasure xoxo!
