Yes to Grapefruit Correct & Repair CC Cream ($15.99) recently became available in two shade selections just in time for Fall 2013. The CC Cream rage is just starting to pick up here in the US and I’m quite excited to test out many of these offerings.
For me CC Cream is an obviously great pick as I have fairly ok skin that doesn’t need a ton of coverage. I rely on BB Creams to brighten up duller skin and keep my skin hydrated through the day but they do run quite pigmented. CC Cream is the next greatest solution as they typically run lighter and have more perfecting abilities but don’t necessarily have the coverage of a BB Cream.
In my case I’m looking for a CC Cream to brighten, keep my skin moistened, and even my skin tone with a formula that’s lightweight and breathable.
I think Yes to Grapefruit Correct & Repair CC Cream gets some of this down but it could be a little disappointing in some aspects.

I’d say the formula is disappointing for one main reason, it does not really correct. This is more of a tinted moisturizer style product so if you have redness or perhaps a bit of unevenness or darkness that you’re looking to correct this might not work for you.
However, if you generally like tinted moisturizer or if you have drier perhaps combination skin you’ll like enjoy Yes to Grapefruit Correct & Repair CC Cream.
This is available in a Light and Light to Medium shade selection. I find the shades run darker especially Light to Medium so don’t write it off as it might just be suitable for your caramel or tanned skin. Light would be most suitable for the medium fair to medium skin tone category. The product is sheerer though so don’t completely write the colors off if you’re darker or lighter than the shades I described above. The Light color shade selection fit my skin tone perfectly.
The formula has a lower SPF 18 but which is disappointing. I’d prefer brands leave out SPF because I apply my own anyway prior to makeup and 18 is just too low a number for me to feel comfortable with it so leaving it out completely seems logical to me.
Light and Light/Medium
The formula is supposed to contain a host of fruit acids that help to correct skin damage such as hyper-pigmentation, dark spots, and aging spots. I can’t really say if my dark spots are any lighter as that would require months of consistent use.
It comes in a pump style packaging which dispenses just the right amount of product thankfully so no messes or tricky dispensers to deal with. The formula is luxurious! It’s a thick creamy texture that absorbs easily into skin. The consistency is much like Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer but a bit thicker and creamier. It doesn’t leave my skin greasy or oily and has a dewy to the touch finish that keeps my skin nicely hydrated through the day but not shiny. I like that it provides all day moisture as my skin feels soft and supple throughout the wear. It’s very sheer with a minimal amount of tint. For me it brightens my skin up a bit and eases dullness as well as evens out my skin tone but it will not conceal minor or major problems such as redness, acne, acne scarring, minor blemishes, darkness, or hyper pigmentation.
In the end this should probably be renamed to Yes to Grapefruit Correct & Repair Tinted Moisturizer. Because as a tinted moisturizer it’s a rather beautiful formula but as a CC Cream it is lacking slightly. I’d recommend it for drier skin possibly combination skin types who have patchier or flaky cheeks. I’d also recommend it for those with fairly good skin that don’t desire a ton of coverage but do want to brighten up their skin and ease dullness.
