The Body Shop Vitamin E Cool BB Cream Review & Swatches

The Body Shop Vitamin E Cool BB Cream

Betcha a million dollars you didn’t know about the Body Shop Vitamin E Cool BB Cream? I didn’t! The Body Shop Vitamin E Cool BB Cream is the brand’s second venture into the BB Cream world!

What’s this one like?

Take a look!

The Body Shop All-In-One BB Cream launched last Summer and this Fall we welcome the new Body Shop Vitamin E Cool BB Cream. Available in a single shade Vitamin E Cool BB Cream is $22 bucks! Ouch! The redeeming factor of the harsh price tag is the fact that the Body Shop has so many damn cool sales every week on their site that you’re bound to get it 50% off or free or something during one of them!

They call it there skincare hero, I call it not a BB Cream but a damn fine tinted moisturizer. This creamy formula is to die for and indeed it does have a cool, fresh feel on skin! It apparently provides moisture up to twelve hours and I beg to agree as my face felt smooth, soft, and supple through the wear. But beware oily folks as it might provide a touch too much moisture for you! It is very sheer with very little pigmentation but it still manages to give me a fresh, natural look. If you already have fairly good skin and just want a little something something to even out your tone and give a tiny smidge of tint this is for you. The texture is very creamy and rich but upon contact with skin it sort of breaks down into a watery cool fresh feel with a soft and semi-dewy finish. It blends in a snap as well! Wear time is iffy due to the moisture it provides you’ll find that the natural look it gives your skin will likely fade away within a three to four hour period and even sooner on a very warm day. However, it’s the gift that keeps on giving because the tint may well wear away but the moisture sticks around and provides your skin with a softness all through the day.

The single cooler shade it’s available in should be suitable for medium, medium fair, and perhaps caramel tones…I think darker and fairer tones won’t fit in here though. Even sheerer it might look a bit beige on fair skin and darker skin won’t benefit at all unfortunately.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Cool BB Cream Swatches

It can’t rightfully be called a BB Cream as it lacks the pigment of one and the protection as there is absolutely no SPF in it.

If you can get past the “BB Cream” in the name I actually loved The Body Shop Vitamin E Cool BB Cream. It’s cool, refreshing, provides a perfect natural look and really provides some great moisture to my drier skin. Some SPF would be handy as well as more pigment and perhaps throw in a longer wear and this one would be WINNING!

It’s available now Body Shop locations or online at www.thebodyshop-usa.com

I love the body shop vitamin E lotion, never tried a bb cream before so no idea, but if it has the same texture as the vitamin E would be really nice

I’ve been using this since it first came out. I agree about the price, but as a LYB member plus their sales I don’t think I ever pay full price for anything. I feel it gives me enough coverage for just throwing on to run to pick up my daughter etc. I love the moisturizer of it. I don’t worry about sunscreen though since I use their Vit C skincare line in the spring/summer and their Vit E skincare fall/winter, both of these have spf in their day creams so for me the lack of spf doesn’t really matter. I do like it, but like most of their stuff, would not pay full price for it 😉

michelle you have a point I also apply SPF prior anyway 😀 but as a BB Cream it really should have an SPF built in!

I got it and promptly returned it. Mind you, this is before several makeup artists admitted to me that any moisturizer that is a part of my regular daytime routine must be worn under any BB cream or tinted moisturizer I’m using. Frankly, that baffles me since I’d assume that a TM and even some BB creams, like this one, are meant to act as a moisturizer (hence their names and some of their claims). Why do I need to add another moisturizer under them?? So now, I wear my regular moisturizer under everything regardless of what it is or says it does. (For reference, I have combination-dry skin that has a slightly oily t-zone in the summer and is bone dry in the winter.)

That said, the Body Shop’s BB cream isn’t a BB cream. it’s just a glorified tinted moisturizer, as one Body Shop sales associates admitted to me. Also, this was one of the least moisturizing BB creams I’ve tried. It actually dried out my skin by mid-day, which is odd because the Body Shop’s line of Vitamin E products is supposed to be some of their most moisturizing lines.

I have drier skin Nicole so I def rely on a moisturizer prior any makeup even if it is marketed as a moisturizer 😀 gosh I had a completely different experience, it keep my dry skin quite nicely hydrated through the wear! It is def a tinted moisturizer and in NO WAY a BB Cream formula that’s for sure 😀 that’s why I addressed it in my review. most BB Creams I’ve run across in the US are tinted moisturized, def not fully pigmented BBs

Wanted to try but you said its not cut out for fair gals. My fav is Dr Jart water fuse! Love the cooling effect of that product.

I actually did know they had one, but I refused to buy it until you reviewed it. Ha! Thanks for the review!

I bought this during a sale and I HATE it. BB creams are supposed to be light, weightless, and creamy. I feel like I’m wearing a mud mask when I wear this. It’s thick, heavy, greasy….Feels like my pores are slowly suffocating under it. And while i don’t have trouble skin (not dry, not oily), it is very drying. And even when blended, you can tell I’m wearing make-up. It feels like a foundation paste to me instead of a BB cream. My mom has one too and she doesn’t use it either. Regret this purchase.
