Considering I suffer from duller, tired skin the Clinique Dullness SuperPrimer Face Primer formula is an ideal pick for me. This comes in a squeeze tube bottle and is a pale shade of baby pink. I’ve actually been recommended colors for dullness before such as lilac but never pink so I was curious how I’d feel coming out of this experience.
These new customized primers help prep and correct skin prior to foundation application. The texture is a creamy velvety feel that you’d commonly associate with a silicone primer however, the creaminess lends a certain lightness to the product which means it wears quite comfortably for me. I typically have problems with silicone primers being itchy but this was quite lightweight and comfortable to wear. It does indeed contain silicone polymers to fill pores, blur the appearance of finer lines, and create a more uniformed smoothness to skin. It’s oil-free so it’s perfect for sensitive skin types. Once applied my skin feels smooth and soft with a velvet-like finish that’s almost powdery. I don’t have visible pores on my face but do have ones on my nose and this does a fine job of filling and blurring their appearance perfectly. The extra layer the primer creates will keep oil at bay as well so skin has a smooth, semi-matte finish for foundation to adhere to allowing it to wear longer and stronger.
Now the Dullness formula is pink as a mentioned above and is supposed to create a more vibrant, radiant finish on skin. I think it’s a little too sheer for my skin to ease dullness completely so as a primer it works out fine but for color correcting I thought it was a touch too sheer. You’ll notice it brightens just a smidge or at least it did on my skin tone and after this you’ll have to rely on either your BB Cream or foundation to create a more flawless finish that eases dullness.
Overall, as a primer Clinique Dullness Superprimer Face Primer works a treat but you might need a little more help when it comes to the correcting abilities.
These Superprimers are available now at Clinique counters or online at Clinique.com
