Clinique Superprimer Universal Face Primer Review & Swatches
With all the discussion of Clinique Superprimers ongoing I’d like to take a moment to introduce Clinique Superprimer Universal Face Primer. Clinique Superprimer Universal Face Primer takes us back to the basics. No tint, no color correcting abilities, just an awesomely hydrating primer that aids foundation in looking its very best.
Take a peek!
As you know the main line of Clinique Superprimers have color correcting abilities. But what if you don’t really need or want a color correcting primer? Personally I tried some of the color correcting Superprimers and thought them a touch to subtle to color correct well however, I also took took notice they were a silicone based primer and I personally prefer something a touch more hydrating for my skin type.
In steps Clinique Superprimer Universal Face Primer! This is a completely different texture than the other Superprimers as it has a hydrating creamy feel and look. This absorbs easily into drier skin and provides basic moisture which allows foundation an easier glide onto skin and provides a solid base for that foundation to adhere to. This result is your foundation looking smooth and less patchy on uneven, drier areas of your face. It seems to provide fairly good moisture for me so my skin is nice and soft throughout the day but not greasy or shiny. It won’t mattify for those with oily skin but such a skin type can easily use it if you prefer a facial primer with less of a powdery, velvety feel that’s clearly silicone formulated. It will fill smaller pores but if you have larger pores or finely lined skin I do suggest a more silicone-like texture to not only fill these areas but also blur the appearance of them.
If you’ve been shopping the Superprimers but having a hard time deciding on a formula I think Clinique Superprimer Universal Face Primer covers drier and combination skin types perfectly. It’s an ideal primer for those looking for a primer to ease their foundation application and allows skin to retain moisture while setting the canvas for extended makeup wear.
I liked this one a lot and could see myself using it daily.
It’s available now at Clinique counters or online at clinique.com
