Covergirl Lipslicks Smoochies Sizzle Gloss Review & Swatches
Covergirl Lipslicks Smoochies Sizzle Gloss is one of the only new products that popped out of the Covergirl Hunger Games The Coal Mining District 12 Collection I recently came across at the drugstore.
Granted there are some new, limited edition nail polishes but outside of that the entire display was a disappointing arrangement of past product releases. However, the new Covergirl Lipslicks Smoochies Sizzle Gloss I can’t say I’ve come across before. This past Summer, Covergirl relaunched their Lipslicks Smoochies Lip Balm with new colors, etc….and yes, they have had glosses like this new Sizzle Gloss in the past but this is new repackaged as to market to a younger demographic.

Covergirl Lipslicks Smoochies Sizzle Gloss were $4.49 each at Harmons recently and displayed in the new Covergirl Hunger Games Collection. I imagine that the glosses are not LE and will get added to the permanent collection at some point after all the hype of the Hunger Game Collections dies down a bit.
I haven’t personally run across the Sizzle Gloss before so it is apparently new but if you’ve seen it elsewhere do share. Earlier this Spring/Summer Covergirl redid the original Lipslick Collection by repackaging and renaming it to appeal to more youthful audience. The Covergirl Lipslicks Smoochies Sizzle Gloss gets the same treatment as this has funky packaging and a more younger edge that won’t necessarily appeal to those in their late 20’s/30’s and beyond.
I purchased the shade Turn Up The Heat which is a sizzling orange sparkle. I really liked it and if they decide to add more colors to their general catalog I would indulge. It’s a heavier shiny gloss with a hydrating feel on lips and a glossy finish. It has a fruity flavor and scent that’s quite pleasant. The gloss has a shorter wear time of around two to three hours before needing a touch up. I liked it so much because it isn’t entirely sheer. The color in the tube is very true to application and it gives my lips a delightful slash of bright orange-y coral shimmer! It’s such a rarity that drugstore tube glosses like this have any pigment as typically they have a flavor and glossiness but no real color.
Overall, this are worth a pick up if you like flavored glossy glosses with a nice bit of color. Turn Up the Heat is a lovely shade for Fall looks!
