E.L.F. Essential Lip Balm Tint Review & Swatches

E.L.F. Essential Lip Balm Tint

Sometimes you run into that hit of a product from E.L.F. and in this case that would be the E.L.F. Essential Lip Balm Tint. At a mere two dollars each the new E.L.F. Essential Lip Balm Tints are a welcome treat for lips with a pop of color that might just surprise you!

Do like these!

E.L.F. Essential Lip Balm Tints

E.L.F. Essential Lip Balm Tint ($2) is available in four selections and is a thick, creamy tinted balm. I actually didn’t expect much from these. First I figured, “Oh they’ll be subtle” after that I thought, “Oh they’ll probably be dense and hard and blah…!”

But they proved me wrong.

They come in a tiny plastic container which is a tad flimsy and temperamental as the lids screw of easy enough but sometimes don’t always screw on correctly…but hey what do you want for two bucks? They look like little jello shots don’t they?

E.L.F. Essential Lip Balm Tint Swatches

Grapefruit, Berry, Peach

The formula I’d liken to products like Jelly Pong Pong Lip Cushion and Lipstick Queen Sinner Shine Hardcore Gloss.

These have a gooey emollient texture which might be a turn off to some. Personally I love how thick they are! I find I have to warm them up a bit by swiping my finger across my lips a few times as I apply to thin the formula out and allow it to smear across my lips in a softer, more even finish. The texture is soft and malleable with a sweet vanilla taste. They have a bit of a chunkiness to them but as you blend them onto your lips they’ll heat up, melt down, and thin out leaving lips with opaque color and a high shine finish. I dislike the finger application and dipping into the pot, etc…due to bacteria, germs, etc…but it is unfortunately the best method for application here. The wear time varies but I can get about two to three hours before they begin to wear away. Through that wear they remain comfortable and never dry my lips out. They do like to migrate though so a transparent lip liner would be a good idea. I think the pigment will surprise many as they really are far from subtle on lips! They provide a good deal of color as well as shine.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. These are so awesome. I have the nude shade which is so lovely with a smokey eye. I want the other colors.

Ooooh I have to try these. I love the berry and the peach. I’m surprised with the color pay-off as well. Love the shine factor as well.

Great color payoff for the price! Reminds me of the Josie Maran’s Coconut Cheek/lip balm gel.

I don’t care for the dip your finger in the tin approach, but these seem like a bargain, and I also like a thicker texture when it comes to lip products.

They are all pretty I would have a hard time deciding which ones I want.

Love these! Even tho they have great pigmentation, they are easy to sheer out and you still get that super moisturizer plumped feeling 🙂

To sweeten the deal, I found a coupon code for $5 off your purchase. I bought all four, thank you so much Muse for the head’s up. Can’t wait to try these! BDAYFIVE- got all four for $9.95 (including shipping)- which the coupon almost covers.

WUT. Wow. The first one looks amazeballs on you! Do you know if Target will be carrying this?

Update: Bought these in a recent haul. How did you get them to look so pigmented and shiny, Muse? I just dabbed on the Berry and I felt like I had to work to build up the color and it’s still not nearly as dark as it is in your swatch.

i didn’t really do anything special just dipped a finger in and smoothed over my lips that was all 🙂

I got grapefruit and berry. I tried grapefruit and I love it! I give it a 5/5. Texture is so nice, light vanilla scent, slight sweet taste very slight, and nice color! The only thing I don’t like is that it is in a pot but i don’t care since I love the formula. It is moisturizing and not sticky as well. Can’t wait to try Berry! 🙂

i got this for .99 at Walgreen, and i love it, they were 1.99 but i had six dollar off coupons, i got 2 berry, 2 grapefruit, 2 peach. I’ve only used the berry so far,i love it.

I like this product from E.L.F Cosmetics. It is creamy and smooth upon application and gives a nice subtle hint of color ( I use it in the nude tint) and a little shimmer also. This one is a winner!!
