Estee Lauder Modern Muse Eau de Parfum

Ok, so, unfortunately I’m not the Muse in Estee Lauder Modern Muse Eau de Parfum. I wish I was but I’m not. Oh woe is me. However, Estee Lauder Modern Muse Eau de Parfum is still a fitting fragrance for a muse like myself….!

Modern Muse is actually all about powerful women. The strong ones, the confident ones, that one’s that embrace their individual styles and take on the world with strength. The Modern Muse is an independent spirit who possesses a natural magnetism that draws people in, inspires them with her smile, and speaks to them without saying a word. She is memorable, a force of creative energy, a true inspiration to others.

I’d like to think I inspire your beauty lemmings from time to time so allow me to feed those lemmings with the introduction of Estee Lauder Modern Muse Eau de Parfum.

Estee Lauder Modern Muse Eau de Parfum is a contrasting little fragrance that’s subtle at first but reveals layers of bolder contrasts as it sets. It’s a warm, rich blend that starts out life with a sparkle of jasmine accord and exotic mandarin. Softer floral notes of honeysuckle, hasmine, fresh lily, and tuberose fleur create a feminine floral back drop to this enticing fragrance. As the softer elements dry down woodsy notes of emerge including hints of two types of patchouli. I know what you’re thinking but don’t worry the patchouli adds richness and warmth without overwhelming the completed fragrance. Creamy vanilla, rich amber, and a soft delicate musk round the fragrance out and gives it that beautiful sensual edge.

It’s interesting how Estee Lauder was able to capture both the delicateness of floral notes and mix them with some harsher contrasting ones. Both elements create a contrasting fragrance that’s sensual and strong. The scent has a fairly good throw so a little goes a long way. On my skin it lingers for a solid five hours before fading to a beautifully buzzy back note on my skin which envelopes myself and anyone around me in a subtle fragrance.

The bottle’s design is a sleek blush pink with navy and gold accent and an iconic bow from Estee Lauder’s first fragrance, Youth Dew, makes an appearance.

I can see Estee Lauder Modern Muse Eau de Parfum turning into a timeless, classic fragrance for some. This is quite beautiful and well worth taking a peek at your next trip to your favorite Estee Lauder counter. You might just fall in love with it’s strength and beauty.

It’s available now at all counters or online at EsteeLauder.com

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Smelled good on the sales lady. Was too strong on me, smelling the bottle you think it smells good, its nice just not for me. I like fresh and light scents like Acqua Di Gioia.

After it has dried down on me it smell EXACTLY like Sarah Jessica Parker’s Lovely. I mean, exactly. And before that it just smells super unpleasant. You are all welcome to have the bottle I didn’t buy!

Plus, I’m still irritated with Estée Lauder that they discontinued all my Beyond Paradise body products. Stinkers.

I am interested in this one. Although the citrus notes are SO OVERDONE now a days. I wish the industry would move on.

Muse, I know you usually like the sugary candy fruity smells – does this have that? I like the darker ambery woodsy notes, but can do without a candy parade.

Most are probably too old to remember this but this smells exactly like the original Guess fragrance from about 20 years ago!!
