Jordana Best Volume Extreme Volumizing Mascara

There’s something awesome about $3.99 mascara! Jordana Best Volume Extreme Volumizing Mascara is newly formulated and arriving at Walgreens this Fall. Remember how much I adored Jordana Best Volume Extreme Volumizing Mascara? Total cheap thrill!

How’s the revamp?

Jordana Best Volume Extreme Volumizing Mascara gets a slight revamp for fall with a new mega brush and a thicker, more pigmented black formula. I liked it the first go around and I was excited about checking it out again!

Fact is it’s still a great mascara but the issues some folks had with the original formula, which I didn’t have, I’m actually experiencing now but more about that later…

This is a larger, bushier brush for application that lengths, creates fairly ok volume, and creates a nice flutter of longer, thicker lashes. I like how it lifts my lashes up and out and the formula is so light they aren’t drooping half way through the day so it keeps curl fairly well. No stiff, crunchy lashes just nice fluttery ones! The original brush was bushy as well but this is a little larger.

Now when I originally reviewed it there were tons of folks that agreed they adored it but they experienced smearing and smudging as the day progressed. I personally didn’t. It wore great on my drier eyes. But fact is I rarely have problems with my mascara smudging.

Unfortunately this new formula does indeed smudge….! Yak! I can’t get through a two hour before without the product smearing on my lower eye and giving me a rather bad case of raccoon eyes. It also tends to smear across my upper lash line as well. By the end of the day I look like I had two few hours sleep or got caught in a torrential rain storm. Oily lids and eyes beware! Chances are it won’t last an hour on your lashes!

Not good….!

Jordana Best Volume Extreme Volumizing Mascara Before

Jordana Best Volume Extreme Volumizing Mascara still delivers nice long lashes but they need to waterproof this bad boy!

The new formula (and applicator) pops up in stores this Fall.

I tried this one and the lengthening one and they both failed! Even though they were inexpensive, I returned them back to Walgreens!! They did not do anything to my lashes and just sucked so bad!! 🙁 I really wanted to like them because i liked both wands…blah

try curling prior Supriya! I find it gives the best length and fairly good volume when I use a curler prior. However, the smearing…that’s the total deal breaker for me 🙁 it ran all over my eyes 🙁

What curler do you like? I bought an Ulta brand curler and my lashes are still straight. Do the heated ones really do a better job?

Mary Kay is on the color mascara wagon. I ordered plum and hope it’s nice. Have a great weekend!

Shu Robin, it’s the best 🙂 You as well! Enjoy yours! It’s going to be a lovely Fall one!

Are they discontinuing the previous formula? I just tried it today and am liking it.

Hi Muse, totally agree with you, I purchased this as soon as I saw it at my local Walgreens and it was awful. Smudged within a couple of hours so in the trash it went.

    Hi Muse,

I really need some mascara advice. I have Asian lashes so they point downwards at an angle. They’re long, but they’re thin and they take some effort to curl. I’ve been having problem finding a formula that’s light enough not to weigh down my lashes and that won’t smudge under my eyes. I have drier skin (though it’s a little better under my eyes of course) and I find that almost everything smudges on me. Volume and length would be nice but at this point I’d be happy with something that will define my lashes when I choose to wear eyeshadow and that will hold a curl and won’t smudge.

    Your faithful reader,
    Cat

I use jordana’s best lash extreme volumizing mascara (the one with the purple lettering). It doesn’t smudge on me and I live through 100+ degree weather. Its certainly not waterproof, but I usually don’t notice any smudging. It builds amazing volume, length, and curl. I love it!
