Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain

Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain are a new chubby lip balm pencil much like Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm but as a mere quarter the price. Steal!

Jordana recently launched their Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain in eight shades for the Fall 2013 season and they should be popping up at Walgreen locations shortly.

How did I like them?

Fact is I adore Jordana Easyshine Glossy Lip Color so by default Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain were a hit for me and I didn’t even have to try the formula to know it.

Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stains are the same concept as Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain and Hard Candy All Glossed Up Hydrating Lip Stain in the fact they are a lip balm pencil but also leave behind a stain after they fade away.

Each chubby pencil has a twist up design so no need for a sharpener. They are shaped and almost sized exactly like Clinique’s own popular pencil housing 0.095 oz of product (Clinique’s has a smidge more of 0.1 oz).

These come in nice selection of eight shades in a range of nudes, berries, and a few popping colors as well. They have a very faint fruity bubble-gummish flavor and scent that’s very subtle. They provide opaque coverage on a single application and have a lighter balm-y texture that isn’t as heavy as Clinique’s version. The thinner formula provides light moisture but doesn’t hydrate super dry lips in my experience. They wear quite comfortably without migrating or feathering on my drier lips nor do they lose any intensity through the four hour wear I got out of them. They have touch of a sheen but aren’t terribly glossy or shiny. As they wear away the darker shades leave behind a very nice staining effect that lasts an extra two to three hours.

As a budget pick they are quite a lovely little pick up especially if you’re obsessed with these chubby pencil balms that brands keep launching! Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain have a formula all their own that isn’t really comparable to other pencils I already own so they are worth picking up especially for the long length stain they leave behind after the initial application wears away!

Plus did I mention I love the $2.99 price tag? You can own all the shades easily at this price!

These are available now at Walgreens or online at www.jordanacosmetics.com

Wow, these look amazing! On a side note, how on earth do you get your face/pose/position the same in EVERY PHOTO! Sorcery!

These are my favorite things ever. I own three, and I don’t even like lip products!

I bought two of these and wore the Honey Love. I love the color and I have to get a back-up. I also bought the Sweet Pink but haven’t tried it yet. I also got the 12 eye pencil in purple and love it just as much. I do wish there were a bit more gloss or moisturizing effect with the lippie. But I still like it a lot.

I love Jordana and I love these crayon lip pencils so I hope I can pick these up, they just don’t sell this brand in stores here so I’ll have to make a cherry culture order in the future 🙂

I got the Candied Coral color about a month back when they popped up at the corner Walgreens and that is now my go-to lip color in my makeup bag. I love it. The only problem I had with the color is that while the stain lasts on my bottom lip a fairly decent amount of time, I get that weird, chubby liner look on my upper lip. Ugh. For the price though, I am going back and getting more. I can afford to reapply!

I bought each of these but Terra Crave and now I wish I would have purchased that one instead of Nude Chic. If you have pigmented, browny/rosy lips like I do, Nude Chic doesn’t really do anything for you. It barely looks like I have a balm on. I may have to add Terra Crave to the list for things to pick up when I finally make that 45 min drive to the closest Walgreens.

I bought these before swatches were out, but I wish I had waited…the glitter in Nude Chic ruins the MLBB effect it could’ve had, and Sweet Pink is way too cool for my coloring! Good thing they were so cheap 🙁

THESE ARE PERFECTION!!! I own three shades and will buy the rest too!

I can’t think of better stocking-stuffers for my friends, that red!

These are so pretty, I’m going to check Walgreens this weekend for some I can throw in my desk and purse. How do you keep these pointy? I had the Revlon one but after a while, the point became a dome and application wasn’t as precise.

    • the Muse

unfortunately it’s a twist up design diva…so can’t really keep them point. no way to sharpen.

  • Ruby

I was reading some of the comments about once the end had no point it was harder to apply, but I use a lip brush with mine to be more precise:)

I bought the Jordana lip stains in Honey love and gorgeously peony. Both are very pretty colors when I put them on. However, after they start to fade, they leave a orangy stain on my lips. Has anyone else had this effect? I’m so sad because I really wanted to use them but the stain it leaves is not appealing. By the way, I am asian and I don’t know if my naturally colored lips has anything to do with it. Too bad because they are inexpensive and such nice shades.
