Laura Geller Baked Elements Foundation Review & Swatches
Laura Geller Baked Elements Foundation is a new powder foundation that recently launched in the Laura Geller Baked Innovations Set on QVC.com. I adore Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Foundation even though I have drier skin this works fabulously for me. So of course, I was intrigued when Laura Geller Baked Elements Foundation popped across my beauty radar.
Let’s take a look!
Although only available in a set the Laura Geller Baked Elements Foundation is bound to become available as an individual purchase at some point. This is a powder foundation that’s available in six shade selections.
The powder comes in an oval black dual compartment compact. It has the powder and a mirror on top and a small rubber sponge in the well housed below the powder. Baked Elements Foundation is a matte coverage foundation but promises a hydrating experience as it contains hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and jojoba oil.
At a glance I thought it simply looked like a reshaped version of Balance-n-Brighten with a lighter marbling. As with Balance-n-Brighten this is a sheerer powder with the potential for buildable coverage however, it won’t conceal major problems so if you’re looking for fuller or even medium coverage this might not be the foundation powder for you.
It’ll likely be more agreeable with those that have oily skin as anyone with drier or combination skin might not like the texture. My own skin is drier and even with plenty of prepping I felt like the powder had a drier texture that clung to my drier areas. I was also surprised it wasn’t as silky as Balance-n-Brighten and blended poorly in comparison. I felt like it applied a bit patchy overall. The wear time is a bit iffy for me as it seemed liked I didn’t apply at all by hour three. It just faded off into the great beyond, wherever powder foundations goes to lay their weary heads.
Medium swatched above
I did take note that the sponge included was rubber so perhaps they thought a wet application would be best but I’ll be honest I really dislike apply powders wet. If it was for that I’d just use my regular cream products and skip the powder ya know?
In the end, perhaps Laura Geller Baked Elements Foundation might be a suitable pick for those with oily skin. This drier skin girl didn’t love it and will stick with be beloved Balance-n-Brighten.
