I love these promo images but lord knows I’ll never be able to recreate them! What do you think of MAC’s Halloween Collection?

What are you going to be for Halloween this year?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. There’s no way I’d be able to recreate those looks even with the right tools lol! Although that plum lipstick is to die for

OH NO THEY PUT CARBON IN THOSE PALETTES D:

I don’t dislike Mac but their premade palettes never fail to disappoint me- especially when they throw Carbon in there. For the past few years every Carbon I get my hands on is incredibly hard with no colour payoff. At one point I even smashed one up and repressed it so it was softer. Still nothing 🙁

Absolutely love this collection! Love Halloween, and I haven’t even decided what I’m going to be this year. Last year I was a Zombie for this Halloween Pub crawl thing we did, that was loads of fun. I was thinking of being an even more grotesque zombie this year.

  • Melissa

YES to the comment about Carbon. Carbon used to my go-to black eyeshadow and now the last few times I bought it it’s hard as a rock with the faintest color payoff. Cue the sad trombone music.

Muse, I know this is kind of off topic for the post, but do you have any recommendations for a jet black eyeshadow similar to carbon that’s excellent quality?

    • the Muse

urban decay used to have a matte perversion shade which is prob still available from ACW Melissa, that was quite an intense black 🙂

  • Teiva

I really like the colors in The Monster’s bride. But I second that the MAC premade palettes are not very good anymore. I ordered one of the holiday ones this past season because the packaging was so pretty but the color payoff was SOOOO bad. I ended up returning it. My older MAC palettes are awesome, though.

    • the Muse

same issues teiva! don’t feel bad! some of the palettes have been really bad lately 🙁

  • Jess

Oh man I’ve been waiting for mac face and body white to come back in stock… I’m so pale that I can never find foundations light enough, so I’ll def be buying that!

  • Miss D

I agree…I’m certainly not clever enough (and sometimes, not patient enough) to recreate those looks!

  • amy

I’ll most likely be picking up the F&B, the Chromacake, & Dirt. I’m hunting for my HG contouring product, and mixing dirt with some of my foundations that don’t quite work may be the answer (well, it’ll be fun trying anyway, LOL!).

  • Julia

I wish these had more unique packaging! I love it when MAC uses different packaging for LE collections, it makes everything so much more special. (The Archie packaging was too die for)

  • Lindsay

I just got the Spider Queen one and love it so far. I’m bummed about the Carbon comments. I needed to replace my matte black (sugarpill’s bulletproof) but I guess I can’t lol. I love all the purples and greens though.

  • Gillian

Can we give some major wow comments to micheline Pitt and her outstanding work modeling this collection?! Plus she’s just gorgeously creative in every facet in beauty! Perfect choice to represent this line. Someone somewhere finally got something right. Giddyup.
