Maybelline Strike a Rose Color Whisper Lipstick Review & Swatches
Maybelline Strike a Rose Color Whisper Lipstick is one of several new, limited edition shades popping up in drugstores at the moment. I’ve been reviewing some of the colors like Coral Tease and Nude Night Out over the past few weeks. I’ve noticed that the LE displays are popping up at a variety of drugstores at the moment where as before I had a tricky time locating one that wasn’t stripped completely bare.
Funny thing about Maybelline Strike a Rose Color Whisper Lipstick it’s a shade I’d typically not navigate to as it looks like too nude a pink for me.
But…
It’s really rather lovely!
I think Maybelline Color Whisper Lipstick is possibly my favorite drugstore lipstick formula at the moment. These are so buttery, hydrating, and natural looking on lips with a smooth, soft glide that never tugs or feels dry.
I think Maybelline Strike a Rose is probably one of the few frosts I’ve discovered in the range. Apparently the new LE shades have not only embraced an LE shade selection but a finish as well since some shades have a fair bit of sparkle and now a frost too when comparing to the regular frost and shimmer-free general catalog colors.
I don’t do frosts simply because they make my rounder face look..even rounder! 😀 I also feel like I stepped off the Tardis into 1965 when I’m wearing frost anything so I typically avoid them.
Strike a Rose is fairly wearable though! It’s a pretty bright shade of lips with a tiny smudge of a frosty finish that gives it a little bit of an iridescent sheen. Granted, it’s not my favorite pink lipstick in the world but the color is a wearable shade of natural pink on lips!
Either Strike a Rose is a really pretty color or I’m just generally obsessed with Color Whisper Lipstick.
I think it’s a bit of both.
