Shara Shara Petit Friend Blooming Water Beam Mist acts as a makeup fix mist or as a facial mist and obviously, as you can see, it has some rather cute packaging which is why it has garnered some attention from all of you recently.

Not all of Shara Shara’s makeup and skincare line is as cute as this little facial mist but they do have some mighty cute skincare, fragrances, and makeup items that feature unusual and kawaii packaging.

Kawaisa is such a large aspect of Japanese commercial marketing. The aspect of cuteness, adorableness, or sweetness is something that sells not only beauty products but many aspects of entertainment, food, clothing, and so much more. Even small common signs like traffic or bathroom signs have some form of cuteness to them. Much of that marketing aspect also leaks into Korean culture and Shara Shara is ideally what you’d expect from a “kawaii” brand.

As you can see the Shara Shara Petit Friend Blooming Water Beam Mist is housed in a little doll/girl bottle. The cap removes to unveil a simple misting bottle but the topper is all about cuteness. Shara Shara kinda sorta reminds me of Etude House but most definitely has a cuter less princess-y aspect. And yes, contrary to what you might be thinking this is a beauty product and not a child’s toy.

I’ve never really grown up so some folks might find this style packaging utterly immature but I think it’s adorable. I embrace the kawaii aspect of marketing in Asia wholeheartedly and wish more US brands would go with cuter packaging.

This is a setting mist but it might be a little too hydrating to set. I always recommend a setting fix spray when you have drier skin and you’re using powder or mineral foundations or use setting powder. These products tend to have an uneven sometimes patchy finish on drier skin and a setting spray can refine the look and even out the texture giving drier skin a dewy finish and allowing powders to look fresher and less dry. For those with oily skin you might use a fix spray to allow your makeup to wear longer however, I think the Shara Shara Petit Friend Blooming Water Beam Mist is a touch too hydrating to actually set your makeup. I do not think this extended the wear of makeup very much. Finally you can use this as a simple facial mist prior to skincare as it’ll work to tone your skin and allow your serums and moisturizers to absorb easier.

It has a very fresh, light scent but it might be considered a bit too much for those with sensitive skin or those sensitive to fragrances in their skin care.

Overall, Shara Shara Petit Friend Blooming Water Beam Mist is a very cute product but not exactly the best fix mist formula around. I think the nice thing is if you do love the packaging but not necessarily the formula you can at least refill the bottle with a product of your choice!
