Tarte Pure Delights LipSurgence Lip Set

It might just be Fall but it’s never too early for Holiday Collections! Meet the Tarte Pure Delights LipSurgence Lip Set ($34) a completely revamped version of Tarte’s popular Holiday Lipsurgence Set!

Why is different?

Typically the Tarte Holiday Lipsurgence Sets include five or six full size Lipsurgence Pencils but this year we get eight, delightful mini ones.

Take a peek!

There’s been a few variations of Lipsurgence sets over the years such as the It’s a Wonderful Life Set, Lip Service Set, and Statement Lips Set.

I haven’t compared these shades to past sets but I’m sure some of the colors might be similar but not complete dupes. None of the shades are part of the permanent range either.

Cheerful. Destined, Generous, Glee

Considering the amount of LipSurgences I have and other lip pens for that matter I’m quite happy about the 0.06 size. If smaller means I get more of a variety of colors I’m all in. Plus these travel so easily and I’m likely to use them up faster than a full size!

You get eight total shades in the LipSurgence Matte Lip Tints and the regular luminous LipSurgence formula.

The break down of shades is as follows:

  • LipSurgence Matte Lip Tints in Glee (watermelon), Cheerful (coral), Destined (raspberry), Generous (pinkish nude)
  • LipSurgence Lip Tints in Believe (warm pink), Grateful (nude), Lovely (mauve pink), Enamored (cool red)

Don’t be scared of the matte formula as these have a soft, hydrating feel. They pack the best pigmentation when comparing the two finishes with fairly opaque coverage with two layers applied and more intense, vibrant color pay off with a third or fourth application. They wear weightlessly without migrating of feather on my drier lips and remain pleasant hydrating through the wear.

Now my favorite is the original formula as it offers the most moisture of the two finishes. Typically these are sheerer shades and have an MLBB look to them. They are light, moist, and provide a luminous sheen on my lips.

If you never tried LipSurgences this is a treat for you particularly with the ongoing chubby lip trend ongoing at the moment! If you already have sets like this or a ton of LipSurgences already you might think this is repetitive. But you know what? It isn’t. It’s just as exciting as the first time Tarte did a set like this. This type of set never gets boring for me!

I love it.

And I Muse Approve it.

Well worth a pick up!

It’s available now at Sephora, Sephora.com, and online at tartecosmetics.com

Ok, it’s time. Somebody has to do it. Repeat after me: “Hi, my name is Muse and I have a lip pencil problem”. 🙂

    • the Muse

LOL true…it should really be “Hi my name is Muse and I have a chubby lip pencil problem”! I freaking loving these things ;D

  • Sara Elisabeth

These look so much more pigmented than the full sized lip pencils I have from Tarte.

Muse! Thanks to your press release on these a while ago ordered them and they arrived yesterday, on my birthday! The first year they were released I passed and then by the time I wanted a set they were sold out, so last Christmas I was ready to pounce. I’ve used up all but one from last year and am ready for these ones, kind of happy they are smaller because I make myself go through my stash shade by shade, kind of like one in, one out, so I don’t have seven red glosses on the go. These are so great for Cdn winters because they never dry out my lips, even the matte, and the peppermint is always refreshing. Yay for holiday sets! Keep up the great work in enabling my addiction!

YAY anne! Happy belated! I hope it was a lovely one! I kinda am glad too as I feel like they travel easier and I’ll use them up faster too ;-D hehe I surely will SO much more to come 😀

    • the Muse

yay happy to hear it lou! I think you’ll love all of them but there are DEF DEF some nice MLBB’s in the mix 😀 Thanks chica 😀 update me after you tried all the shades want to hear if you find a nice mlbb!

  • yelena

I got this set and I love the colors…but I feel that the matte dry out my lips to the point that its is PAINFUL! anyone else experience this? I really don’t want to return them but I may have to 🙁

    • the Muse

i didn’t get that thankfully try balm under it OR try apply, reapplying, stroke it across your lips a few time to warm it up and melt it down, more moisture that way.
