Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Goblin Market Perfume Oil

The Lab has taken us to the Fairy Market and for Halloween we visit the Goblin Market! Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Goblin Market Perfume Oil is one of several new Halloweenie Perfume Oils that launched earlier this month.

I actually ADORE Fairy Market so when Goblin Market came across my radar it was the first thing that popped into my mind. Plus the description was intriguing…like honey to the throat but poison in the blood…..!

Hmmmm!

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Goblin Market Perfume Oil is an fragrance that goes a bit too musky on me. The seduction and promise of ripe Fall fruits is here but it’s mixed with a bitter bite that I dislike. This isn’t to say it isn’t unique because it is…even seductive dare I say but as a person who loves fruity, sweet blends this doesn’t exactly deliver.

I have to admit this does bring Christina Rossetti’s poem to life somehow….mind you it isn’t your standard fruit market but a goblin market? Yes, surely this is what one smells like!

I get some sweetness on first sniff in the bottle with an unusual undertone however, on my skin and with my body chemistry it’s pure musk and bitter musk at that. The dry down seems to go earthy on me with elements of musk. There’s is something autumnal about the blend like stepping through leaves that have drifted to the floor on a brisk Fall night.

I was a little disappointed this wasn’t as sweet and fruity as I had hoped for! It should be appealing to those who prefer a darker, mysterious scent without being overwhelming.

Interesting but my body chemistry seems to morph it into pure musky darkness!

I tested this one out too, and feel about the same. I was really hoping for a fruitlicious experience, with sugar or honey. But alas, something didn’t quite sit right when I tried this one – it’s like it turned when it hit my skin. Ah well, at least my Samhain was wonderful! 🙂

mmm yes…it’s musky…unusual, pleasant not bad but just not what I LIKE in a fragrance…no fruit though…it sounded like it would be loaded with cherries and peaches etc etc etc…!

Exactly! It wasn’t stinky or anything, just darker than what I had anticipated, especially on my skin. Oh, if it smelled like cherries and berries and the like … oh my! 🙂
