The Body Shop Honey Bronze Shimmer Lip Balm Review & Swatches

Body Shop Honey Bronze Shimmer Lip Balm

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Shimmer Lip Balm ($9) was a little lip balm I picked up recently when it was on sale so I got it for around four or so dollars. Having a rather good track record with some of the Body Shop’s lip butters I was quite happy to indulge as I was expecting a shimmery honey flavored gloss.

What did I think?

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Shimmer Lip Balm

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Shimmer Lip Balm comes in a tiny beehive like sphere. Inside you’ll find a dense shimmery champagne beige lip balm. This little balm actually gets rather good review’s on the Body Shop’s website but I might be in the minority here as I didn’t like it.

The formula is supposed to taste like honey and plumps & repair lips but the balm is quite dense and feels dry when I apply it on my mouth. I also dislike the color which nudes my lips out slightly….so paired with the drier texture and the color my lips end up look rather dry and gross. The flavor isn’t quite honey it’s more a subtle lemon taste. As it warms it does have a more balmy consistency but the texture for the most part runs thinner and drier.

I could be nit picky with this one as I read a few raving reviews for it but personally The Body Shop Honey Bronze Shimmer Lip Balm at its original nine dollar price tag wasn’t doing it for me. I’d recommend sticking to the far nicer Lip Butter Collection that The Body Shop does!

I got either a coconut or shea (can’t remember) lip butter from the Body Shop once as a gift, and it left such a gross white film on my lips that I pretty much swore them all off.

I’m wondering if you have tried any of their Honeymania line by any chance? I know it’s not a makeup line, but I am looking for an honest opinion on the scent, as I do not live near a store anymore and will be ordering online.

i haven’t yet amanda but I’m curious maybe a review or two upcoming!

Hi Amanda, I tried the Honeymania. I picked up the body butter and the EDT- it is a more florally honey, even more than the Demeter Honey fragrance. I’m not sure how it compares to MJ Honey (asI haven’t tried that), but it is a nice fragrance.

I love the jar it comes in, so cute! I’m picturing depotting some other lip product into it *so dorky* lol!

The packaging alone turns me off to the product. Plus there’s shimmer! Who wants shimmery finger tips?

Muse, I like this lip balm and i agree with your review, although i dont find it feels dry on the lips for me; it definitely is more of ‘stiff’vs. slippery and emollient formula. I use it only before bed primarily b/c it is a pot version; i was hoping it would smell similar to the honey bronze body oils myself but i do enjoy it. i wouldn’t repurchase it when i am finished because i find it to be a run of the mill balm and here’s the big shocker, i have *many* other balms that i have that are go-to’s (avene’s lip cream is an absolute always have 2-4 tubes in the house at any given time and i love to gift it and/or recommend it!). Thank you for your review, as always! 🙂

      I wish I got the slippery/emollient feel…most I get dryness 🙁 lol..I hear ya I hear ya 😀 my pleasure!

It’s cute and the pot is cute but I htink I can pass.

I’m not big on fragrance but I did smell the new honey fragrance in Ulta the other day and it’s more floral than honey – did I say honeysuckle floral? OMG – it’s actually really pretty and I hate most fragranced body butters because they are just so strong. I may even pick this one up when I’m due for body moaisture again.

The new honey lip butter is aymayzing… like you I didn’t like this one, but the new one is A++ in my books.

I wonder if you picked this up during the sale when I was on the site. Turns out this was literally the only item I was interested in, so I decided to not make an order. I’m glad to find out that I wouldn’t have liked it, since I’d want it to smell (and potentially taste) very honey-like, and I prefer really slippy balms like Jack Black.

u can use it as a cheek highlighter, specially if u have a dry skin i bought it for this reason it’s wonderful & gives a natural light bronze glow on ur face that lasts all day, but as 4 lips i agree that it’s worthless!it doesn’t give me any moisture or either glow!!
