Dr. Jart Ceramidin Liquid Review

Dr. Jart Ceramidin Liquid1

Dr. Jart Ceramidin Liquid ($39) is getting a hard launch in Korea at the moment as apparently the product launched to the US market almost exactly as the same time that it did in Korea (rare!). I keep seeing all these videos, photos, etc…on Dr. Jart Korea’s Facebook page and it kinda makes you instantly want to purchase this stuff.

After testing out for a several weeks now I can say this has become and will stay apart of my daily skincare staples. If you have dry skin, you NEED it.

Dr. Jart Ceramidin Liquid2

Dr. Jart Ceramidin Liquid is the first in a two step system (follow up with Ceramidin Cream) that preps skin for moisturizer. Japanese and Korean lotions, essences, or liquids are just a friendly word for toner in my experience although most have a thicker consistency than your average US toner with added benefits in some cases.

This is a serum slash “lotion” that has a thick yet watery consistency that absorbs easily into skin. To use it just squeeze a small amount into the palms of your hands and press them gently onto your face to allow the liquid to absorb. You want to basically give yourself a little facial massage with this. I think many will automatically assume that you put some onto a cotton pad and swipe it across your face. That’s the wrong method of application. You’ll want to place it into your hands and slowly “palm” it on so it absorbs fully. I hold the palms of my hands against my face for a few seconds and move them gently across my face laying them flat and allowing all the liquid to absorb before following up with the moisturizer. This also happens to be the correct way to apply BB Cream. You can see what I mean below about application (this is a commercial for Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid a similar style lotion that’s popular in Japan).

If you’re looking for a product that doesn’t only hydrate your skin but provides continuously moisture and allows your skin to retain that moisture this would be a solid choice. I have drier skin in the winter and combination throughout the rest of the year and believe me when Winter sets in I struggle with some mighty flaky areas around my face. Dare I say this is even TOO much moisture for my dry skin! It’s incredible that I can apply it in the AM and proceed to visually see and feel how soft and supple my skin stays as the day progresses. I personally prefer it as a night treatment to be honest as it provides a touch too much moisture for daily use. If you struggle with drier skin you’re going to want to try this out immediately and as it truly does provide miraculous results. I particularly recommend it if f you have aging skin that looks older due to dryness.

Dr. Jart Ceramidin Liquid

Just a warning for those sensitive to fragrance in there skincare this has a very delightful fresh herbal scent but may be too strong for those with sensitivities.

After several weeks of use I can visibly see how much smoother, brighter, and hydrated my skin looks and feels. When my skin is drier is suffers from looking tired and lackluster but with constant use Dr. Jart Ceramidin Liquid in conjunction with the Dr Ceramidin Cream gave my skin a healthy, restored glow.

This is wonderful stuff and has become HG (holy grail) for me!

Well worth picking up with the long hard Winter ahead of us soon and for those who just need to get their glow back!

It’s available now at Sephora and Sephora.com

Tried it?

I just bought this the other day, Muse! I was stalking Sephora for it as I was rather desperate to try it and as soon as it popped up at the Times Sq store, I was there xD

I must say though, it’s too moisturizing for me 🙁 I love the HadoLabo but I think since my skin is more combination (albeit dehydrated), it’s too much for me. it made me shiny/greasy but I really loved how light it felt on my skin and I actually liked the scent as well!

Not going to return it because I’m thinking that in the Winter months, my skin might be dry enough to use this. This is even more potent than my Caudalie SOS Thirst Quenching Serum!!

I’m really glad you’re loving it though and that it’s HG for you now!!

P.S. Are you going to the Bauble Bar Sephora Rouge event this Sunday? 😉

      hey chica!

ME TOO! me too! I’ve been using it several weeks which means it was still hot out during the testing and boy was it ever moisturizing 😀 I love the scent too btw! for the Winter it’ll be amazing but for the warmer months it is def too potent…it’s more a nightyl treatment for me but I imagine if I was older it would be great for daily use as older skin tends to need to continuous moisture! Total hg for winter for me thoug!

No 🙁 I’m leaving for California tomorrow won’t be back until Monday!

Thank you for this comment! Your opinion saved my decision struggles! I know I need Dr.Jart’s Ceramidin line’s something. I tested out the cream but as it gets colder it’s not enough. So I was thinking about the oil or this liquid. And then I read that it’s even more moisturizing than Caudalie’s S.O.S serum! Yay! As this serum is the best I’ve ever used if the Ceramidin Liquid is even more hydrating… Holy Grail :D.

Musey, are you planning to review the cream as well? My SO has eczema and I’ve been trying to find something that will help him–especially as colder weather approaches

I picked up the lip balm from this line because it had ceramide and my dermatologist would give me ceramide based lip creams when my lips were trying to peel off my face.
    It really did help.
Also DHC makes a ceramide supplement that’s really great! CERAMIDE IS THE BEST I’m obsessed with this ingredient now haha
I should try this but I need to finish my tonymoly flora line.

Hi Muse. Do you use anything else on top or bottom of this? Sounds like from your review that it is a single step process since its so moisturizing. Reason I ask is I have dry, dehydrated, and aging skin and can use all the help I can get in the winter. I use an anti-aging serum first, then follow up with my day lotion or night cream of choice. I’m wondering it this would be too much to combine with other products? I live in AZ and it won’t be winter here for a while but it sure is getting dry now that summer monsoon is over. My skin is just sucking up everything, including oils, like crazy. Thanks, and have a BLAST on your trip!

I apply moisturizer on top of it dev. If you have super dry skin it shouldn’t be an issue to use other problems…! Hope this helps! 🙂 thanks girl! tired as hell but was amazings!

  • Stephanie

Is there a product you can recommend for those of us who are sensitive to fragrance but are super dry? Thanks

  • toothmix

you just sold me on this although i’m usually a cynic of brands with pseudo chem label packinging… i need this 😀

  • Laura

I have the cream from this line, and also really love it! I only use it at night, but I use Hada Labo’s Hyaluronic Acid lotion under it and my skin is suuper hydrated. I love it. Glad to know the liquid is as good 🙂

  • Sylvia

Gosh this sounds like magic! It would be perfect for the cold Canadian winters we get up here.

  • Katy

I NEED this! My skin is awfully dry and I’ve tried many different products but I haven’t found “the one” just yet. Here’s hoping this is it!

  • Yan Fen He

I have dry skin too and I can’t wait to try this out!!

    Thanks for the post.

I also have combo skin and I noticed it becoming dry these days. I’m starting to see “stretchy lines”–oh no! I live in LA too and it’s not even THAT cold. May I ask where you live as a comparison? Thank you for your help and keeping blogging xxx

I’ll mention for any oily-yet-dehydrated people (say if you’re using drying treatments like retinol/sulfur/BP/etc for blemish control or anti-aging), I have very oily, clog-prone and irritation-prone skin but I use this in tandem with their Water Fuse gel-cream moisturizer and it works like a charm to keep my skin hydrated and supple without going sticky or cloggy.

The trick is not to apply TOO much, since it won’t absorb well at all if you overdo it – when I first bought it, I used too much and didn’t like it, but once I hit the right amount I just fell in love with how hydrated/soft/radiant it made my face. Just a dime-size dollop is enough for my whole face and neck, I apply it after my toner/any acne products and before my eye cream and moisturizer (the Water Fuse in the day, PTR Glycolic at night).

It’s a really great way to get that extra boost of hydration that oily skins can still need without having to deal with how clogging or irritating a lot of American moisturizers can be. American products tend to go either too drying/irritating (if I buy for oily skin) or too clogging/sticky (if I buy for sensitive skin), it seems like Asian companies are a lot better at remembering that oily/sensitive or oily/dehydrated combinations do exist xD

The Water Fuse moisturizer from Dr. Jart+ is probably the best moisturizer I’ve ever had the chance to use. I’m really impressed by this brand so far!

I’m using a combo of Dr. Jart+/Etude House/PTR/Sunkiller BB and my skin is looking the best it has in years, so I’m glad I found this blog and got sucked into Korean skincare xD

How much would you say you use? I have a sample and I’m struggling to determine if it’ doing anything for my dry and dehydrated skin.
