Laura Geller BB Cream All-In-One Skin-Perfecting Beauty Balm

Laura Geller BB Cream All-In-One Skin-Perfecting Beauty Balm ($34) recently launched in four shades with an SPF 21 and a lightweight formula that acts as moisturizer, brightener, sunscreen, and coverage all in one.

I tried it out recently and here are a few of my thoughts.

Laura Geller BB Cream

Laura Geller BB Cream All-In-One Skin-Perfecting Beauty Balm is a water based formula that has a very light yet creamy texture. BB Creams get more and more lightweight as the US formulates them for our market and this is as weightless as you can get. The texture resembles a gel cream of sorts with a cool, refreshing feel as you apply. I find that the creamy texture breaks down into a more watery, runny consistency once applied and absorbs fairly easily into skin leaving it hydrated. This doesn’t cling to drier or patchy areas which is great because I happen to have drier skin. It has a soft, dewy finish that doesn’t give the appearance of being too shiny or oily upon application. It just feels quite lovely on my skin.

Unfortunately this does run sheerer so if you’re expecting the full coverage Asian BB Cream experience you won’t get that here. It’s a step above a tinted moisturizer in my experience so there’s enough pigment here to even out your tone, ease minor redness or darkness, brighten up dullness, and gives your complexion a very soft, smooth, even appearance.

The formula contains antioxidants Ginseng Root and Ginkgo Biloba Extracts, Vitamins A and E, plus a Multi-Mineral Complex rich in Magnesium, Potassium and Zinc”all of which condition and protect skin from environmental damage. Optical brighteners instantly diffuse light and diminish the appearance of fine lines and blemishes, while Licorice Root brightens and helps even-out skin tone over time. The formula is mineral oil-free.

At a glance (and even in my swatch) the finish looks a bit glow-y but this doesn’t translate upon final application thankfully as I dislike foundation products with a glow. The product reminds me of Laura Geller Real Deal Concealer but without the same fuller coverage.

If you’re looking for lighter coverage that perfects, corrects some, and gives skin a more flawless finish you should get on well with Laura Geller BB Cream All-In-One Skin-Perfecting Beauty Balm. However, those seeking a full coverage BB Cream might find this a touch too sheer for there liking!

It’s available now at QVC.com, Ulta, Ulta.com, or directly from www.laurageller.com
