L'Occitane Iris Angelica Sublime Beauty Cream

L’Occitane Sublime Beauty Cream ($36) has finally launched here in the US in Light and Medium shade selections. The new L’Occitane Iris Angelica Sublime Beauty Cream is made with a combination of two angelic flowers of white iris and angelica known for their hydrating properties.

Take a look!

Like most BB Creams released in the US market this acts as more of a skin perfecter than an actual full coverage BB Cream. Shades do seem to run darker as I tried Light and it wasn’t a fairer, cooler shade but more of a warmer beige so do swatch in store prior to purchasing. It is a subtle pigmentation so a wider range of skin tones can get away with using it since it perfects but doesn’t necessarily conceal problem issues.

It quite reminds me in texture and performance to Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Beauty Balm in some ways. It has a beautiful rosy fragrance which might prove irritating to sensitive types but I think it’s rather delightful!

L'Occitane Sublime Beauty Cream

Give it a good shake prior to use because either the sunscreen (SPF 30) or perhaps just the serum they are using in the formula is causing it to separate when squeezed out of the tube without a good shake. The texture is delightfully lightweight and quite hydrating so I think drier skin will adore it. It reminds me of a watery serum of sorts that absorbs easily and leaves skin nicely moist after application but dries down to soft, satiny finish.

It contains enough pigment to minimizes the appearance of minor redness while creating a smoother more uniformed finish so skin tone is more even and flawless. I feel like it acts as more of a skincare product than an actual makeup. Apparently the more you use it the more it’ll approve your overall skin texture.

Although invisible once applied due to the sheerness of the product I find, like Urban Decay’s Beauty Balm, it still gives my lackluster skin a bit of a boost so my skin just appears brighter, less tired, and fresher.

Unfortunately, the formula does get sucked in by drier skin so I can only get a two to three hour wear time out of as it fades away very, very quickly.

L’Occitane Sublime Beauty Cream isn’t marketed as a BB Cream but merely a “beauty cream” and that makes some sense to me. For me it feels like a basic moisturizer slash tinted moisturizer. It feels quite luxurious to me (perhaps due to its beautiful scent) as the thinner consistency absorbs so easily into my skin and feels like I’m using some wonderful glamorous scented facial moisturizer. Coverage leaves much to be desired but if you merely wish to perfect and give your already good skin a nice even tone this might win a spot in your heart. However, those seeking the full coverage of a BB Cream might find it a disappointing formula.

It’s available now at L’Occitane Boutiques or online at usa.loccitane.com

My skin has so many problems…..

L’Occitane is nice, I’ve used some of their stuff before.

I’ll go in the store downtown and try it myself. Then if I like it…I’ll get it!

I reviewed this when it first came out, and at first I loved it, but now it’s just way too dark on my skin and I barely use it! And I’m light too…lighter than light I guess 😉

I’ve tried this and I absolutely love it, the scent (like you said) is beautiful and I love how light this wears. It feels like I’m doing something for my skin while wearing makeup! ha

I hate when formulas separate, it grosses me out. You should do a post on the new Rose Hip oil for the face made by Palmer’s Cocoa Butter, got a sample in this month’s issue of Cosmo, love the smell, and celebrities swear by this magic ingredient. It’s supposed to be good for the skin and the smell is divine.

I’m bummed this is yellowy, when I saw the post I got super excited. I’m super pale and pink (I think I was a redhead in another life) so I guess I’ll be skipping it. I hope they start making other shades though, I LOVE L’Occitane and so does my son. We use their products almost exclusively.
