MAC Centre of Attention Mineralize Skinfinish Review & Swatches
MAC Centre of Attention Mineralize Skinfinish ($33) is one of three new Mineralize Skinfinish Powders that launched with the MAC Divine Night Holiday 2013 Makeup Collection.
I happen to be a rather big fan of MAC MSFs and have quite a few in my stash but I am awful about actually using them. Anyone have this problem? Bad Muse, bad!
Let’s take a look at MAC Centre of Attention Mineralize Skinfinish to see if you need it!
MAC Centre of Attention Mineralize Skinfinish is divided into two sections one of which I like to call pastel cotton candy peach, it’s pink, it’s gold, it’s peach, it’s damn pretty. This shade surrounds most of the powder but you also get a small chunky of brassy gold as well which seems a little out of place when you’re pairing up with the the lighter peachy bit shade. MAC calls it a gold shimmer but I dub the two shades combined more of a brassy gold. The peach is super subtle here and the smaller gold patch actually dominates the shade. It’s very glittery, very loose in texture, and application ends up with glitter fall out everywhere with very little color. It’s basically like applying glitter rather than actual colored highlighter! The texture isn’t particularly lovely either and has a gritty feel with a good deal of frost as well as chunky sparkle when applied.
This type of product ends up accentuating drier areas and will likely do the same with larger pores.
More pigment, less glitter and MAC Centre of Attention Mineralize Skinfinish would make for a lovely highlighter but as is, well, it’s just messy.
