MAC Macroviolet Fluidline 1

MAC Macroviolet Fluidline ($17.50) is one of three Fluidline Gel Eyeliners released with the MAC Divine Night Holiday 2013 Collection. This is a lovely smoky violet shade that’s sure to create some sultry looks for the Holidays.

Take a look!

MAC Macroviolet Fluidline is a rather stunning shade of rich plummy violet with very fine flecks of silver that are barely noticeable within the jar. The texture is a creamy gel eyeliner that glides easily onto the lash line without skipping or tugging. The color is quite rich so you won’t need to go over your first application. It also smudges to a rather brilliant smoky plum! I was kinda tempted to apply it all over my lids and blend it out to see how it would look as a smoky cream shadow or sorts! I may still try it as I’ve been known to use Fluidlines as I would a Paint Pot! The wear is excellent with a solid 10 to 12 hours without smudging, flaking, or peeling away, Fluidline never fails in this department and it’s always an excellent price tag compared to other mid-range gel liners.

The shade is unique and unusual enough to purchase if you love plums. It’s a color that will flatter brown eyes rather beautifully as well! It wouldn’t what I’d call a traditional color for the holidays but MAC did some stunning purples with the Divine Night Collection and for some reason I really am seeing the festive in them!

Wait a tick… I already own Macroviolet Fluidline. I bought it some time last winter. Are they marketing it as a new color now? Did they stop making it at some point?

Also, I totally tried Macroviolet in the MAC store for the first time in October 2011. (And I was totally going to buy it, and the salesguy talked me into buying Waveline instead, and I tried to convince myself I liked Waveline for over a year, before finally deciding to walk back into a MAC store and buy Macroviolet, which is what I really wanted in the first place).

    Hi Muse!

Thanks for the review! May I ask what brush you used for the look in the picture? I really like how thin the line is.

This is such a beautiful color, does it last on the waterline for any amount of time?

Your eyes look really pretty. I love purples. Did you smoke out the Macroviolet, or are you wearing eyeshadow too? If eyeshadow which one/s?

thanks pam! I’m actually wearing Korres Plum Eyeshadow and a lined with macroviolet on the upper lash line.

Wow, I remember this shade being around when they first launched fluidlines! Used this on a daily basis for a long time and loved how it’s basic enough for everyday use, but still unique. I do find they eventually dry out however, oh well, such is the life of a gel liner.

Really wish MAC would release more fluidline shades already!I always snap them up whenever they do.
