Maybelline Bronze Tapestry Shimmer Blush Review & Swatches

Maybelline Gilded in Gold Blush

Maybelline Bronze Tapestry Shimmer Blush is a new limited edition blush that released with the Maybelline Gilded in Gold Collection for Holiday 2013. The color reminded me a bit of the Maybelline Gold Fuse Blush that launched for Spring 2013 for some reason. Granted they aren’t the same shade at all but it’s interesting the way Maybelline keeps with the same color scheme here the way they did for the Spring Collection by releasing two colorful shades and one bronze-y one.

Take a look!

Maybelline Bronze Tapestry Blush

I purchased Maybelline Bronze Tapestry Shimmer Blush at Bed, Bath, and Beyond but in the next few weeks I’m positive this will get a bigger launched and start popping up at the typical drugstores like Walgreens, CVS, etc…

The blushes do remind me of Chanel Les Tissages de Chanel (Tweed Effects) Blush as they have a tweed/houndstooth print. Unlike Plum Shimmer which I recently review this doesn’t have a similar gradient look. The color is a solid tan with a tiny touch of rosy peach swirled in which is barely noticeable. There is a heavy over spray of silver glitter and from what I can see this runs straight through the blush. I didn’t chisel away at the blush but after a few swipes of my brush the sparkle is still there. It sheers out nicely though so it doesn’t give a complete disco ball finish on cheeks and face.

The blush is .09 oz in size and set me back $5.99 but I suspect once they hit mass market retailers you’ll be looking at $8.99 price tags (ouch!). I thought the compact was a bit smallish so wriggling my brush into it was a bit of a pain but not too irritating.

I prefer peachy shades or pinks but Bronze Tapestry isn’t as unwearable as you might think. It should prove a nice contouring shade if you can get passed the sparkle and it produces a fairly nice sophisticated glow on cheeks that’s very pretty. Pigmentation is fairly good with a silky, easy to blend formula that’s almost velvety in texture. It wore fairly well for me but I saw some fading at hour five so I felt like I hadn’t applied any blush at all by the time I headed into that fifth hour.

Maybelline Bronze Tapestry Shimmer Blush FOTD

I wouldn’t call Maybelline Bronze Tapestry Shimmer Blush of these three blushes but I am quite glad I picked it up!

Anyone have luck finding it?

Do share!

I purchased this item.

Colors like this are perfect when I do a dark vampy lip and I don’t want to wear blush, and it has sparkle!

Um miss, are those handcuffs around your neck?! ;]

  • Miranda

It looks like the sparkle isn’t evenly distributed in the packaging… does that make for uneven application?

      • Yana

not at all? dang it… Swatches of dallas on google are so deceiving 🙁

        • the Muse

no..this is tan and dallas is a dusky rose with some bronze elements.

ok! thanks! Man, finding a dupe would be a lot easier if I had actually seen the color in person lol. Too bad I don’t have an Ulta or a Sephora near me! Do you know of any drugstore products that actually are dupes! Thanks muse!

i’m not really sure yana sorry I wish had the time to sit and compare shades but I can barely do what I do on Musings and keep up with daily life and my real job hehe..so I don’t really compare all the shades I have to other products…I don’t really know of a dupe for Dallas but maybe another reader can reply and help out. I’m so sorry! One day if I do Musings full time I’ll def get around to actually giving a list of dupes 🙂

I like this shade a lot, but the shimmer might look harsh on me. 🙁 Btw what lip color are your wearing? It looks like a tangerine shade. Very pretty. Yup I have not spotted these new Maybelline and Revlon goodies yet either, which is surprising to me. My Walgreens usually stocks pretty quickly.

Can you help me find the following impossible product?

    One that is all-in-one?
    Blush/Illuminator/Highlighter all in one?

I am very fair so I just want a hint of color, but I want to be radiant and dewy and luminous? Any such product out there?

Estee Lauder used to have a Skin Illuminator called TEASE but it was 2013 Limited Edition. Saw it on youtube, and WOW, it’s a miracle product. It is luminous and has slight color.
    Thank you.
