Maybelline Just Beige Color Tattoo Eyeshadow Review & Swatches
Maybelline Just Beige Color Tattoo Eyeshadow is one of three new matte shades of Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow released with the Maybelline Gilded in Gold Holiday 2013 Collection.
I’m not a big matte fan but I adore shades like Maybelline Just Beige Color Tattoo Eyeshadow because they are great essential shades of color you’ll likely reach for daily to prep eyes with. Colors like Milani Naturally Chic Shadow Eyez 12 HR Wear Eyeshadow in Almond Cream, Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow in Navajo and Nude Beach come to mind when I think of simple yet perfect prepping shades or nude eye looks and Maybelline Just Beige fits right in with colors like this. They are simple yet become staples of our everyday eye looks for not only prepping with but also for days we just want a simple eye look without a ton of fanfare.
Take a look!
I purchased Maybelline Just Beige Color Tattoo Eyeshadow at Bed, Bath, and Beyond but haven’t yet seen it at any drugstores in my area. The shade will likely catch attention for being close in color to MAC’s popular Soft Ochre Paint Pot but it has considerably more yellow undertones to it.
Unlike this Summer’s poor release of duochrome Color Tattoo Eyeshadow shades which were slippery and prone to creasing I’m finding all the limited edition, matte shades are an excellent texture. This has a dense yet creamy consistency that applies easily onto lids without creasing or fading. It sets quickly but still gives plenty of time for you to blend it out. The color is subtle but on certain tones you’ll get a glimpse of a nice fair beige. I think of it as a Benefit Lemonaide shade of sorts as it preps my lids for color, softens the look of dullness around my lids, and will conceal redness or veining if you have any. It’ll also act as a primer for loose pigments and shadows and allow you to blend easier while minimizing fall out. The color will also act to intensify the shades of powder eyeshadow and give them a nice solid matte base to adhere to which lessons creasing and absorbs excess oil.
On my drier lids the shade lasted all day without creasing and made a great base for me to use a little liner and tons of mascara in a simple look as seen below. I just used it as a base of sorts to prep my lids and smoked my eyeliner out over it.
Overall, this one is deserving of a backup! I really enjoyed the texture and felt Maybelline did an excellent job with the color overall.
Muse Approved.
Well worth grabbing one or even two of!
