Milani Sparkling Mascara Top Coat Review & Swatches

Milani Sparkling Mascara Top Coat

Milani Sparkling Mascara Top Coat ($4.99) is a new glittery topcoat accent to add a bit of sparkle and shimmer to lashes for the Holidays! These limited addition top coats remind me of the days I was absolutely obsessed with glittery lashes! Does anyone remember Bare Escentuals Beautifully Luminous Lashes? Or how about Givenchy Lash Sparkles? I’m taking it way back! Heck I even used to use Urban Decay Heavy Metal Eyeliners on my lashes! Simply stroke it through and it would encrust my lashes with little bits of glittery joy!

But the good thing is Milani Sparkling Mascara Top Coat won’t set you back as much as those old favorites….! This budget pick is a must have for the Holidays!

Milani Sparkling Mascara Top Coat LE

I think this year we’ll run across the regular round of mascara formulas that lace a bit of glitter and sparkle into the mix such as products like LOreal Voluminous Million Lashes Diamonds Mascara, Givenchy PhenomenEyes Mascara Gold Sparkles, and Maybelline The Colossal Volume Express Mascara with Diamonds.

Personally I dislike these mascaras! I prefer a top coat because I get a better finish from it with more sparkly goodness. Mascaras that already have sparkle built in tend not to show up so products like Milani Sparkling Mascara Top Coat is the perfect companion piece to your regular mascara. Simply apply your regular mascara of choice, allow a sec for it to dry, and apply Milani’s Sparkling Top Coat on top! Presto! Sparkling lashes!

This has an applicator without bristles which allows you to swipe the overcoat on gently without messing up your normal mascara. It applies mess free and adds just a touch of sparkle to lashes that when the light captures them they reflect like little glittering diamonds on your lashes! It’s a really pretty effect and although it might sound messy or unusual or even scary for glitter haters you might just be surprised how very festive it looks. I don’t think you need to apologize for glitter in your looks come the Holidays! It’s kinda expected isn’t it? But you don’t necessarily have to use these for the Holidays! I think the silver one adds a nice accent to a smoky eye look and the bronze is perfect for Summer looks!

I didn’t actually take photos of them on my lashes or swatches as it’s difficult to see in a photograph sorry about that but I did do up close photos of the wands.

Oh wow these look so fun! I think I might have to get one of these! 😀

They look pretty but they aren’t for me. My eyes can easily itch even without any eye makeup (due to falling eyelashes) and I think these will cause me itchiness and discomforts too. If I want a glittery look, I can use glittery eyeshadows instead. But that’s just a personal thing though.

These look like a fun idea but I wear contacts. Would you say these are sparkling as in glitter effect (flakes) or sparkling similar to physicians formula shimmer strips mascara where its more of a liquid metal sparkle?

    • the Muse

it’s glitter Adrienne, not metallic sparkle just glitter suspended in a clear gel base. prob should avoid if you wear contacts or have sensitive eyes.
