The NARS Guy Bourdin Holiday 2013 Collection

NARS Guy Bourdin Collection

The NARS Guy Bourdin Holiday 2013 Collection is a brand, new limited edition collection of color from NARS. The NARS Guy Bourdin Holiday 2013 Collection is a rather massive collection so this post will cover all the color cosmetics launching with the release and I’ll follow up shortly with the gift sets and palettes.

Note: After careful consideration and research I have decided not to cover or review the NARS Guy Bourdin Holiday 2013 Collection. Guy Bourdin was a controversial pulp photographer and some of his images are controversial, morbid, and offensive to women. Being a women myself I’ve decided to cease coverage on this collection! Thank you for understanding!

Take a look!

NARS Cosmetics is thrilled to reveal the limited edition NARS Guy Bourdin Collection for Holiday 2013. As a child, NARS Founder and Creative Director François Nars discovered Guy Bourdins work in the pages of French Vogue. It was then that Nars was first inspired to become a makeup artist. Today François Nars honors Bourdins legacy with an entire limited edition collection for Holiday 2013 displaying bold uncompromising color and high-impact finishes in shades that launch us into his intriguing, high-fashion world.

With 17 shades, the Color collection features four nail shades, three blushes (1 may look familiar – Exhibit A is highlighted due to its relevancy), and one new formula seen in the form of five eyeshadows and five lipsticks – the Cinematic formulation was created exclusively for the NARS Guy Bourdin Holiday Collection. Eyeshadows have a velvety soft texture that glides on smoothly for high-impact color and statement-making effects. Cinematic Lipsticks impart brilliant, glossy shine with intense color saturation. Creamy and comfortable, Monoï butter and Vitamin E offer moisturizing and antioxidant/anti-aging properties, ensuring lips look well cared for and colorful. The Color collection launches on October 15th at NARS boutiques and www.narscosmetics.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

I love it all. I’ve been shying away from Nars for a while….it was all I wore at one point and I got bored. But these colors are gorgeous. Will you be reviewing them?

  • Usha

omg..where is that rumoured 6 blush kit? 😛

It is a sad day 🙁 i was hoping 2 see that!!!

  • Caroline

Wow, this looks like a gorgeous collection! That blue eyeshadow is AMAZING. And despite my insanely fair skin, I’m weirdly drawn to that Exhibit A blush! Maybe it would work with a light hand…? Thanks for the preview!

  • JackieG02

I only want the eyeshadow, Mississippi Mermaid, solely for the name.

  • Cindy Ramirez

This looks like a beautiful collection! Between the lippies, blush, and eyeshadow. Can’t wait to see swatches.

All of the shadows, except the copper. Well, unless they’re cream formulas, then I’ll be skipping the entire collection…

  • Loren

Damn, you mean Sephora won’t be carrying them? NARS charges SO MUCH for International shipping to Canada 🙁

People are being so dramatic over the Guy Bourdin stuff. I am a woman and one that was both raped and beaten and I have no problem with Bourdin stuff. If anything I feel it brings some of those things to light. Not talking about those issues is the problem and anything that sparks the conversation is what matters. I am so sick of people saying “I am not going to review this because his stuff is offensive to women”, actually by not talking about it people are doing more harm than good. Rather than taking the controversial pictures and turning it into an empowered discussion people are just refusing to talk about it, which is kinda of sad actually….too bad, the collection is gorgeous.
