Pop Beauty CC Cream Review & Swatches

Pop CC Cream

Pop Beauty CC Cream ($26) has got a handle on the Asian CC Cream formula! Wow someone is doing it right! This color adapting CC Cream is quite great and as close as you’ll get to Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream (which I love) without having to go to Korea to shop for it.

Take a look!

Pop Beauty CC Cream

Pop Beauty CC Cream starts out life as a pure white cream with color beads that burst and adapt to your skin tone much like many of the CC Creams you’re seeing coming out of Korea at the moment. Many brands in the US took CC Cream and decided to improve upon the pigmentation of it therefore resulting in a beefier more pigmented formula than BB Cream. This is where some brands went wrong as CC Cream was supposed to be a lighter texture that corrects but does not necessarily offer coverage. It’s sort of reversed technology…where as CC Creams went lighter and less pigmented than BB Creams in Korea here in the US you’re getting more pigmented, heavier CC Creams versus the sheerer BB Creams we saw released for the first time in the last year or two! It’s a little confusing as the US market’s idea of a CC Cream isn’t exactly fitting with what the original CC Cream formula within Asia is.

None the less Pop Beauty CC Cream takes a note from Asia with this release. I enjoyed and liked the new Stila CC Color Correcting Cream and Pop Beauty CC Cream is similar in many ways but doesn’t have quite the moisture Stila’s version does. This formula is a soft, satiny one that does not accentuate drier areas and has a smooth flawless finish on my skin. I think the color adapting isn’t quite right as the formula goes a bit lighter than my actual tone however, the product is so sheer it won’t give fair, medium fair, and medium skin types a pasty appearance. It comes in a single shade so those who can use it might be a little limited….! The shade turns a creamy ivory for me with some pink tones. It actually creates a very fresh, flawless finish on my face that eases dullness and brightens up my entire tone. You don’t necessarily have to use it alone as you can simply prime with it and apply your normal foundation or BB Cream as a follow up. I personally prefer it alone without anything else over it. Coverage lasts on me a full six hours and shows signs of fading at just the six hour point. I like the natural, breathable coverage it provides and the way it evens out my entire face.

You have to remember it won’t offer crazy coverage…it merely corrects your tone. Personally I think CC Creams are best suited for those who have fairly good skin but want to tip that good skin into the awesome zone. Those who have major redness, ruddiness, blemishes, acne, acne scarring, etc…will likely not love the coverage or correcting abilities of this product as it is too sheer to address major skin issues. However, those with a slightly uneven tone, some dullness, tired or fatigued skin that lacks a glow, or even for those with some minor darkness or redness will find this creates a more uniformed finish to their skin.

I really liked this and thought it was convenient that I can just get it at Ulta or Ulta.com and didn’t have to bother myself with airmail, E-bay, and hunting down Korea CC Creams online. If you want the true Asian CC Cream experience I’d recommend checking out Pop Beauty CC Cream.

look a bit too pink leaning for me though i’m glad its comparable to the tony moly (which is still sitting unopened in my drawer…so bad)

This might be just what I’m looking for. Since having Miss K I don’t wear makeup as much. As such I have gotten used to my natural looking skin and whenever I put on BB cream or Tinted moisturizer I look at my face and all I see is makeup. If this is as sheer as you say, it might be perfect for me. A little bump in the skin awesomeness department.

So I had to go to Target anyway and grabbed the Pixi Illuminating Tint. Just what I was looking for. Very sheer. Just a slight evening out of my face surface. Perfect. Just for the heck of it Inalso snagged their tinted balm in Nearly Naked. Any person reading this who is wanting a natural but polished look needs to own that shade. Fair skin, dark skin, whatever it’ll look great.

I just bought this today from ulta, all pop beauty is 50% off and not only did it take 50 pimps to try and get the product out of the packaging, but then it truly showed how much product was act silly left in the package, which looked like half of the amount 🙁 but other than that it seems to work pretty well
