Tarte Stop & Stare smolderEYES Liner & Lash Set Review & Swatches
Love Tarte smolderEYES? Me too! That’s why this Tarte Stop & Stare smolderEYES Liner & Lash Set for Holiday 2013 should be yours! You get six full size eye products and a deluxe Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Mascara! What more could a girl want for Christmas?
Last year Tarte Eye Catchers SmolderEYES and Skinny SmolderEYES Collectors Set absolutely thrilled me! I adored that set and kid you not that all the SmolderEYES Pencils are down to tiny nubs at this point especially the Gold one!
Tarte Stop & Stare smolderEYES Liner & Lash Set ($39) is a new variation of last year’s set with more variety, new shades, and some fun extras. Last year’s set included six full size smolderEyes Pencils but this year they spiced things up by including two of them along with three Skinny smolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liners and a deluxe size Lights, Camera, Flashes Mascara!
Tarte smolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liners included with this set come in two new shades of Taupe and Rose Gold (as seen below on my eyes). These double ended pencils have a smooth, creamy texture that can be used all over the lid or applied on the lash line and smudged out with the tip of the tiny sponge smudger located on the opposite end of the pencil. I love how creamy these are. They apply like butter on my lids and blend out to a picture perfect finish with a quick set time that doesn’t crease or fade as the day progresses.

Tarte Skinny smolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liners included are Onyx and new shades Purple Garnet and Azurite Green. These have an equally creamy formula that glides across my lash line easily with an easy to smudge formula. These pencils are so incredibly pigmented and creamy, applying without tugging or skipping! I love the glossy, lacquered finished of these liners. They have a strong wear especially on the waterline where I can get at least five to six hours of wear without it fading or losing intensity.

I’ve reviewed Lights, Camera, and Flashes before in a prior review but for those who haven’t read it here’s a brief recap. This has a spiky larger application which enables it to pull lashes up and outwards. It doesn’t produce major curl but does a fairly good job of pulling lashes out and adding nice length and volume. It wears well on my dry eyes without smudging or flaking. I enjoy the regular Lights, Camera, Lashes formula a bit better but on a whole Lights, Camera, Flashes brings some fairly good volume and length to lashes and adds a nice touch of drama to lashes.
This set is a complete value considering a purchase of just the liners alone, individually, would run you $57. You get the extra mascara as well so that isn’t counting the cost of that…!
You can break it up the set to stuff stockings but chances are since there are some new shades here you’ll want to keep it for yourself and that’s quite ok, I can understand completely 🙂
Wearing Rose Gold on lids and Onyx on the upper and lower waterline (sorry, I did a poor job blending here so you’ll see a bit of creasing towards my mid eye area, I was rushing this morning during application EEP!)
It’s available now at tartecosmetics.com and Sephora.com and will launch in stores later this month!
