Bare Minerals Complexion Superstars Set

The Bare Minerals Complexion Superstars ($39) is a new, limited edition Holiday 2013 Gift Set that features five full size Bare Minerals Powders (blush, highlighter, bronzer, finishing powder, and more) with a brush for application.

This set is a nice introduction to Bare Minerals loose powders as it gives you a variety of formulas and finishes to play with and includes some of Bare Minerals best selling products such as their popular shade Warmth.

Let’s take a look!

Bare Minerals Complexion Superstars Holiday 2013

Bare Minerals Complexion Superstars contains five 0.07 oz powders in the following formulas:

  • Original Mineral Veil Finishing Powder
  • Illuminating Mineral Veil Finishing Powder
  • Blush in Golden Gate (warm apricot)
  • All-Over Face Color in Clear Radiance
  • All-Over Face Color in Warmth
  • Mini Full Flawless Face Brush

I just want to start off by saying I dislike the brush included with this set. It sheds, isn’t exactly soft, and is a tad too little for buffing product on. Outside of this quirk the set itself is a steal as it contains well over $100 dollars in Bare Minerals products in full sizes that you’ll get plenty of use out of.

I think loose powders seem very intimidating to some but truly Bare Minerals has one of the silkiest, easy to apply formulas I’ve had the pleasure of using. Their extra large lids make it easy to tap a small amount of product into them and swirl, tap, and buff onto your cheeks and face. I’ve always found their blush is so easy to apply and I can just build and build and build but never over do it! For someone as heavy handed as I am that’s a great plus. And the blushes always look airbrushed onto my skin as well so even though they are loose they don’t cling to my drier areas and create a perfect, beautiful, smooth finish. I’m wearing Golden Gate blush in my photo below.

Bare Minerals also includes two finishes of Mineral Veil so you get the original, matte version which you can use all over your face to set makeup and even under your eyes to set concealer and brighten the area up! Plus they include the Illuminating Veil as well which has a fine silver shimmer that adds a touch of glow to cheeks and face!

Finally they also give you All Over Face Color in two shades one of which is Warmth. Warmth is their best selling bronzer-like shade that adds a touch of the sun to your face where as the second shade, Clear Radiance, is a more subtle luminous pale pink that adds a touch of glow to your skin.

Needless to say this is an excellent kit to get you started with Bare Minerals if you’ve never tried their loose powders before or to gift a fan of the brand as at $39 it’s truly a steal!

The Bare Minerals Complexion Superstars is available now at Sephora and Sephora.com.

Warmth looks scary in the swatch, but actually putting it on the face it looks gorgeous! And this seems like a great value set!

Oooh Muse – I’ve always been interested in trying their foundation and blushes and this just might make it into my basket for the VIB sale… I’ve got my cart loaded already, what’s another item?! lol

At full size, how long should these last if used on a daily basis and what is the shelf life once opened?

    • the Muse

powders typically last from 2-3 years not sure exactly what BE recommends don’t have them in front of me at the moment. used daily, I’m not really sure it really depends how much you are using etc…I’ve had some blushes from BE last me two years but I don’t use them daily.

Muse! I’m trying to NOT add anything else to my Sephora cart for tomorrow (I love ya, tomorrow!). Stop taunting me with gift sets that peak my interest and then will lead to shopper’s remorse! lol

  • Manda

Ah, I’ve added this to my Sephora cart! Now to decide to buy or not to buy once the VIB sale goes live… ;D
