Chanel La Desiree Rouge Allure Velvet Matte Lipstick Review & Swatches
Chanel La Desiree (327) Rouge Allure Velvet Matte Lipstick ($34) is one of two limited edition matte lipsticks shades that launched with the Chanel Nuit Infinie de Chanel Holiday 2013 Collection.
If you’re a love of vampy lip colors (and matte ones) I think Chanel La Desiree Rouge Allure Velvet Matte Lipstick could prove a love!
Chanel La Desiree Rouge Allure Velvet Matte Lipstick is a deep, rich berry red with a matte finish. I’d call the shade a warmer sultry red with a more neutral undertone that both warm and cool skin tones should be able to pull off.
It’s a very color rich shade so a single application gives an opaque finish. The wear is very strong as well lasting at least six hours on my lips without eating or drinking. Around hour seven it shows some signs of wear and at eight a staining effect is left behind. The creamy texture feels weightless on lips and it doesn’t tug during application. The velvet finish is very comfortable to wear however, I do experience a bit of dryness at around hour four but the color doesn’t bleed, migrate, or feather during this time even though it gets a bit drier with continuous wear.
Needless to say it is a rather stunning vampy red and very wearable as well!
It’ll be a beautiful festive shade for your Holiday looks.
I don’t love matte lipsticks but La Desiree could change my mind.
It’s available now at your favorite Chanel counters or online at Nordstrom.com.
