Edward Bess Platinum Concealer Review & Swatches
Edward Bess Platinum Concealer ($38) seemed to be my answer to a inexpensive version of Cle de Peau Beaute Concealer. I dunno why I thought this…Probably the swivel up tube design? Possibly Edward Bess’s name on the package? His hair? Who knows….
But I thought here’s a $38 concealer by Edward Bess that probably works just as well as Cle de Peau Beaute Concealer and at a fraction of the cost.
Take a look!
Um yeah, no, this isn’t anything like Cle de Peau Beaute Concealer.
I’m actually surprised as I expected a lot more from an Edward Bess concealer. This is a swivel up design and holds 0.15 oz of concealer and at $38 for a high end brand I’d consider this inexpensive for a concealer. However, I also expected excellence from it and I didn’t quite get that.
This has a drier texture but thankfully applies with a satin finish that does not crease into finer lines. There’s a bit of tugging involved when you first apply it and it needs a warm up to blend out well. The concealer just drags a bit during the application and the blending which under aging eyes, finely lined ones, or drier ones isn’t particularly great. The coverage is ok. It brightens well enough and conceals my minor darkness and puffiness but those with darker circles than my own will likely want something with more coverage. Wear time varies but I saw about five hours before it faded a bit and I looked like I needed a touch up.
Soft Beige
I actually expected a highly moisturizing, pigmented concealer from Edward Bess but unfortunately this doesn’t quite live up to what I wanted.
Anyone try it?
