Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel Review

Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel

Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel ($10.95-$29.95) is a new limited edition body wash from Lush that launched with the Christmas/Holiday 2013 Collection. I find there are two sets of Lushies when it comes to Rose Jame. Those who love, those who find it a little overwhelming.

However…

I like being different.

So I’m in the middle.

I adore the scent but sometimes I realize it can be headache inducing. I have the perfume and of course, I have Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner and Rose Jam Bubbleroon but I have to use them when I’m in the mood so to speak.

In the case of Rose Jam Shower Gel I’m always in the mood especially when I’m washing my hair with it because the scent is positively addicting.

Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel is only available until December 25th so if you love best get to grabbing it because who knows if and when it’ll ever return. The shower gel is created with a vanilla pod infusion as well as goji berry juice and argan oil. It creates mound of sweetly scented lather in the shower and if you’re daring enough (and haven’t color treated your hair) you can use it as a shampoo.

Lush combines a heavy sweet rose scent and combines it with Sicilian Lemon Oil to create a candied rose scent that’s fruity, floral, and very, very unique.

Rose Jam can be a sensory overload at times…just a friendly warning as the scent is strong! But none the less it is unique and truly gorgeous when you’re feeling in the mood for it.

Lovely!

It’s available now at Lush shops or online at www.lushusa.com.

Are you a Rose Jam fan?

I have this one at home, it really smells that good and I’m in the middle just like you, I have to be in the mood to use it since it can be a bit overwhelming at times.
I also have Ro’s Argan, which I’ve used up a lot during the winter and I’ve stoped all summer, I’m just waiting for the cool days to come to use the rest of the cream I’ve left (they should’ve come by now but we’re having this weird weather in Barcelona).
I think it’s one of the most mosturizing creams I’ve ever used in my whole life, it’s perfect. And the Shower Gel is pretty mosturizing as well.
    100% awesome products for sure.

hey bantera def agree 🙂 it’s the type of scent you have to be moved to use 😀 I love the body lotion too but def use it more in the Winter than Summer 😀 it’s awful rich!

  • Karin

I have both this and Ro’s Argan. I actually like the shower gel better because once the gel gets lathered up, it mellows out a bit. It’s definitely strong and certainly too floral/sweet for most men. I like it enough to have purchased an extra one, but my true holiday love is Lush’s Twilight shower gel. OMG … I wish they sold it year round. I want to wrap myself in a blanket that reeks of Twilight. I just got the Celebrate lotion too. What a dreamy lotion …

    • the Muse

isn’t celebrate amazingggggggg!? ;-D Twilight is nice, not my fav, but I LOVE celebrate 😀 and yeah, def agreed on Rose Jam Shower Gel it mellows out nicely but Ro’s Argan really lingers!

  • kimmyyy

Wait… You can use their body wash as shampoo?? I mean, I can’t because I dye my hair, but hot damn! I had no idea. That’s kind of amazing.

    • the Muse

not really lol! I used snow fairy all the time as Lush totes it as a body wash/slash shampoo they do this with many of their shower gels but man they are drying! but for once and a while, sure, why not, I do it 😀 but WOULD NOT recommend for dyed hair because many Lush is stripping as hell!

      • Jenn

Its raining men doesn’t strip my hair and I dye my hair too. It leaves my hair happy and smelling good. I don’t even need to use conditioner afterwards.

I think its the honey that does it.

I am a MAJOR fan – I bought 3 of the big bottles during my LUSH holiday haul last week. I really like the candied rose scent as it makes me feel warm and cozy.

I did get a tip from one of the Lush gals to use Rose Jam to shampoo my hair and then lightly apply some of the Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner to the tips of my hair. I wouldn’t do this all the time – but it did make my hair smell awesome and the ends super soft.

I picked up the Rudolph fresh face mask, Celebrate body lotion and Sandy Santa body butter bar. I normally am not so gung ho on holiday things so early in November but gaaaaah, Lush brings it out early in me every year.

oooo what a fab idea Christine!!!!!!!!!!! 😀 I couldn’t agree more nothing puts me in the spirit more than Lush 😀

  • Meg

Oh my gosh i LOVE the rose jam bubbleroon. I actually have one sitting in my bathroom closet with my towels and it’s so fragrant and lovely! I was hoping they would come out with it in a different form because i love shower gels….so happy!!

  • Lily

I got suckered into picking this up the other day (those sale associates know how to rope you in!) and I absolutely love it!!! They recommended using it as a one-two punch with Ro’s Argan body conditioner but I think the shower gel is enough for me! I think the lemon is what makes it really unique; sometimes it smells like Japanese pickled plums to me (as non-luxurious as that sounds haha!) I really love the body wash though, I’m on the love-it-so-much-I-might-just-buy-a-few-back-ups-for-myself side!

I LOOOOOVE Rose Jam shower gel so much; I wish I could LIVE in it!! Lol
Please PLEASE tell me – if anyone knows- will they be bringing this back for the 2015 Holiday season??? I’m SO worried- a sales associate at my local store said they may not, because they like to introduce NEW products.
    WHY??!
I’m really hoping this person was wrong. YIKES!!

    About Rose Jam:
I’m an extreme lover- I 💜 it. But I’m kind of bummed as I feel like I can’t rely on the company to keep this stuff in stock. Oy.
First of all, I never even got to try the Rose Jam perfume.
But yet they have all these other regulars that are – frankly – mostly unexceptional. Imho.
    With Rose Jam???
The scents combine to make an exquisite, uplifting fragrance that is both sensual and a wildly effective antidepressant. I looooooove it.
Love it love it love it.

Now, I just discovered Lush a year ago or so: I just used the Ocean Salt Face Scrub.
I had also tried a few samples -***always ask for these, guys!!*** – and liked Ro’s Body Conditioner, but not to the extent that some people do.
-I don’t feel like it’s an especially smart buy at $32.50: it doesn’t seem to be that exceptional that it’s worth the buy. Even if you buy it on the U.K. site. I DO use the PEARL massage bar, which has the exceptional Rose Jam scent- love it!!! (Be careful of the tapioca bubbles though- I buy the ones without too many- they’re a waste of the oil!!)

I use a few other Lush products regularly now and wish I had the resources to buy more of their stuff. Sigh…

So, now that I’m addicted to the luscious shower gel?
I’m now totally off any of my former Bath and Bodyworks products- they feel toxic and stick to my skin. Aaaagh- this really brings home how unhealthy most commercial products are out there. Thank gosh for ethical companies like Lush. (But don’t ditch Rose Jam shower gel!!!!!)
