Lush Santa Baby Lip Tint ($8.95) will give your pout a boost of festive red this Holiday season. Launched with the Lush Holiday/Christmas 2013 Collection this classic red tint is cola flavored and made with date and cherry extracts.

But beware it is PIGMENTED….

Lush Santa Baby Lip Tint comes in a tiny tin but likely you’ll be using this stuff into the next millennium because man is it pigmented. It makes me think of that jolly round man in red as the color is a vibrant tomato red!

It’s created using rich Fair Trude shea and cocoa butters as well as carrot oil with date and cherry extracts as well! It’s supposed to be cola flavored and scented but mostly it tastes like a sweeter (not tart) lemon. The initial layer is very, very dense and that isn’t any real surprise as many lip tints from Lush have the same issue however, after breaking through you’ll find the texture under it is creamier. I didn’t find it that moisturizing to be honest and it feels a bit heavier on my lips through the wear but man does it wear long! You can get a solid 5 hours out of it, sometimes even 6! And after it wears away it leaves behind a nice tint.

I obviously exaggerated the amount I am wearing below but I suggest sheering it out for a very subtle hint of cherry red on lips because it looks nicer that way. A little clear gloss on top also gives it a bit more pop because applied from the pot it has more of a satin almost semi-matte finish.

And hey, I’ve done it before, I’ll do it with this, you can always use it as a cheek tint as well! Lush It Started With a Kiss ended up on my cheeks more than once in the past.

I loooove how the color looks! It’s very tempting to buy, but I prefer extra moisturizing lip products during the winter! My lips get a lot drier easier when it’s transitioning from fall to winter, especially more during the weird hot days in CA!

i don’t find it terribly moisturizing in all honesty…it’s a bit drying 🙁 especially when you sheer it out. Gloss helps?!

I usually apply it on top of a nivea lip butter and use a brush to put it on my lips. That way its not as drying but it also isn’t so vibrant.

Sounds very intriguing! How does it perform as a cheek color–is it pretty long-lasting or stain-ilke?

Holy bright pigment, Batman! Looks amazing though, might have to go and pick it up (and many other Lush goodies…lol).

Ive never tried lush yet your blog and reviews led me into their store today. I wanted to run screaming from the store. The products were beautiful. …..but the sales people were SO aggressive and pushy. I will stick to online with lush. I understand the sales girls have a job to do and are probably under pressure to SELL but I couldn’t even look at a product wirhout one on each side of me singing the praises of whatever I had in my hand. ……Ladies I would just prefer to shop in peace.

Interesting. I tested this lip tint in a store here in Aussie, and it was a DEAD ON dupe of their permanent It Started with a Kiss lip tint, down to the scent. Perhaps we get different formulation here? >:

not dead on for me, it’s a bit more tomato red and I get full on red blue undertone from it started with a kiss but VERY close!

A Million Kisses has always been my favorite, although due to in ingredient in it it does get gummy after a while. I’m glad it’s permanent in the US, at least. I just hope they bring it back in Aussie too.
