Marc Jacobs Style Eye Con Eyeshadow Palette ($42) is one of six new palettes introduced with the new Marc Jacobs Makeup and Beauty Collection. This trio palette comes housed in a black lacquer slim line case and houses quite a luxurious eyeshadow formula.

I recently played with one of the Marc Jacobs Style Eye Con Eyeshadow Palettes in The Rebel and was really blown away by the texture of the shadows. I honestly didn’t love the trio of shades as it isn’t something I’d personally wear and I felt it was a bit mismatched. Shades included in this palette are a warm beige, a hot pink, and dark gray purple. These colors aren’t really flattering on my aging eyes so perhaps my next try with the Style Eye Con Palettes I’ll try something a bit warmer!
The creamy beige isn’t anything to write home about here as it is a basic soft, silky highlighter shade but the hot pink and matte purple are incredibly smooth, almost creamy in texture with a beautiful velvety feel and excellent pigmentation. Possibly the best shade that’s the most vivid here is the hot pink (and sadly the smallest of the three shades as well). The hot pink is a high sheen shade where as the grayish purple is matte which is equally as lovely for a matte shadow (as many are so terribly dry and chalky!).
All the shades are extremely easy to blend and adhere nicely to lids without primer. I had no issues with fading or creasing and shades had a strong intensity from morning until night.
Marc Jacobs Style Eye Con Eyeshadow Palette are pricey and I don’t think I’d recommend the Rebel if you’re going to dish out near $50 for a shadow palette. However, I can see myself getting very excited about a shade selection in warmer browns or golds (which they do have) in this same exact formula. You’re paying for quality shadow here and you do get it. Beautifully texture shadows indeed!
